Replacement Keyboard of Keypad
Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice/recomendations for a replacement keyboard for my aging Logitech G11 keyboard. I suffer with MS and have limited movement in my left arm so rely heavily on the 18 programable macro keys which the G11 has for gaming. I was wondering if anyone could suggest any alternatives which may be suitable either keyboards or keypads. I was looking a the Asus ROG Claymore keyboard as I could swap the numpad to the left side and program the keys to what I wanted but the price is out of my reach.
Any help/suggestions would be much appreciated
Re: Replacement Keyboard of Keypad
Well the cheapest route would be to spend a tenner on a separate numpad but it wouldn't be in a fixed position relative to the keyboard.
Re: Replacement Keyboard of Keypad
Lots of macro keys aren't really in-fashion at the minute. I have an old G19 that only has 12 keys. Most keyboards have even fewer, these days.
Have you considered a mouse with lots of buttons that you can assign macros to?
I use a Logitech G700S, although the older G700 is basically the same and liable to be even cheaper.
Also, the Roccat Tyon and the newer Leadr version have lots of buttons too.
There are a few Smartphone apps that let you create buttons and assign macros to them, which then link your phoe to the PC and function the same as a dedicated keypad. You can even have custom profiles for each individual game.
I know Roccat had one and that other companies were bringing their own version out - That's likely to be pretty cheap and loaded with customisability.

Thanks for that but the MS makes even using a mouse difficult at times - especially as its for the left hand. I do use a mouse with my right hand though with several programmable keys. Its not the macro functions I use just the ability to map different key commands to the keys on the left side I really want.

The apps let you assign pretty much anything you want. If it's just basic keys, they should easily be able to do that as well. You can even make the on-screen buttons different sizes. It's a full-on remote control, basically, so you can have all manner of PC functions, from apps to stats displays, volume controls, a number pad... loads.
The Roccat one is called Power Grid and it's free (certainly on Android).
Another alternative is Voice Attack - It's designed for in-game voice control, but in normal Windows, you can again set up all manner of things, all of which are voice-activated. There is a free trial available for this.

I might be a bit late on this but you could try a simple Programmable keypad, something like this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cherry-MX...38.m2548.l4275
or maybe the Razer Tartarus or similar

Necropost!
Jokaz's other thread reminded me of this, though.
I recently got some hands-on with a Corsair Vengeance K90 MMO keyboard: https://www.corsair.com/uk/en/Catego.../CH-9000003-UK
Basically, 18 extra keys that can be assigned to anything you like, be it macros, scripts, functions, combinations, or just replicating actual keys.
You can even swap the keycaps over, if you like.

If you can't find a suitable keyboard with macro keys, you could always use Autohotkey to configure macros. It does require a bit of learning to use the Autohotkey script system, but there are lots of tutorials online, and they guys over on the Autohotkey Forum (https://www.autohotkey.com/boards) have always been very helpful to me.

I play games with a 'mouthstick' due to disability...effectively just a single 'finger', so there are workarounds :)
