Question Mining - simple but where?

    Hi,
Ive abandoned mining and thus blacksmithing as a skill beacause I couldnt find any ore at all ever?? Im a Tauren in Mulgore/Thunder Bluff area and there wasnt any ore to be found, do I need to venture wider? tbh skinning has rolled the money in and Im doing well with it but Id really like to be a Blacksmith so where the heck is the ore?

Well, when I played Tauren Warrior in beta if I remember correctly I was able to find copper in Muglore, but there is more to be had in The Barrens. You should head off there at about level 12 if you haven't already.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

The best way is to find ores and mining points is to use the "Find Minerals" skill that appears when you actually learn mining in your skills ( which can be found if you press P )

Once activated - the mineral deposits show as yellow dots on the map, and can be found all over mulgore, the barrens and everywhere else

    Hope this helps,

Im level 10 at the moment so Im nearly off to Ogrimmar to the weapon master there to learn two handed stuff (just bought guns at thunder bluff I was using the find ore button But ive never seen yellow dots at all, this was the problem I never saw any and I went all over Mulgore etc. Ill try it again with the Troll character Im going to do as a hunter.

Thanks for confirming you did find some there this must be a problem my end I think

    thanks

User error?, because there are loads of copper mines in mulgore, heavy concentrations higher up in the mountains, like with all mines. if you are a miner like me you find yourself taking the indirect route to everything by walking round the edge of the map to find more minerals.

Yeah, almost all the ores are found in the mountian area at the edges of the area.

Also (and this may seem obvious) there are lots of ores in mines...
