Do you fly in real life?
Have you flown in real life?
You get it from that I hope
No I have never flown myself
Yes I have flown myself in the past, but not now

Yep - had a flying lesson a couple of months back, took control just after take off and flew the whole lesson until just before touchdown.
Fantastic experience, and the amount that PC flight sims had prepared me was simply amazing.
(Was a bit turbulent though, had trouble keeping the old brekkie down at one point )
not enough votes......3 replys PLUS mine....but not 4 votes ...who missed voting?

Nope, never. I don't really like flying at all to be honest let alone flying the plane my self. Still yet to go on a jet plane, every plane I have been on has been a prop plane.
Off to Majorca for a stag do in 2 weeks, so that will be my first time on a jet plane.
Living and dying laughing and crying
Once you have seen it you will never be the same
Life in the fast lane is just how it seems
Hard and it is heavy dirty and mean
Before take off in a big Boeing, I have this unbelievable feeling fo wanting to stand up and scream......
The brakes are on....the engines go to MAX.....the bugger shakes...and then you get pushed back HARD and it is sexual
And here is the WILDEST BIT......the first time I went up in a 757 , I got very weird things going on in my head.....and I didnt know WHY , but I wanted it to lurch me forward and then push me back again....
in fact....I wanted the Pilot to CHANGE GEAR.... and he didn't...the thrust just went on and on
It is HEAVENLY

Forget about the physics of lift etc etc, something that weighs a couple hundred tons just DOESNT fly... they strap you in so your belief that it has to fly or you'll die a horrible death at the end of the runway literally WILL it into the air...
Thats why they've banned getting too drunk on planes, you lose concentration and the plane loses lift.. ever noticed how a plane with a drunk passenger always has to make an emergency landing?
Think about it....
Please don't start, I am already getting quite nervous about going and it's still 2 weeks away.Originally posted by Deckard

The worst experience I have had in a plane was in a little twin prop jobbie going to Endovien in Holland for a music festival. There were more staff on the plane than passengers and I was stick that many times the air stuedess gave me a black back as she was getting fed up with keep changing my sick bag, I filled 5 before she gave me the black bag
The trip back though was very enjoyable indeed. It was the same plane again but this time the ride seemed a lot smoother and when we came in over London it was nice looking at all the landmarks from the air

trash, soon as youve taxi'd and u hear the (sorry for language) F*CKIN ROOOOAAARRR of the engines you'll just want to stay there and nto take off cos it feels so sweet, then as soon as breaks re off its closest thing to orgasm u can get...
do i like aircraft too much?
hey deck, how'du explain cargo planes then??? no passengers
If you want a weird sensation, sit at the back of somthing like a 757, a 737 will work to but 757's are longer. When they rotate the plane at take off, you go down before you go up... it's a very odd feeling, you also get to look all the way up to the cockpit and it looks ubelivably far up.
I hope to take up gliding sometime soon. £600 to go solo. Powered flight is too expensive.
Gliding is only £5 for a launch and then a couple of quid an hour. Membership is about £80 a year I think. Even a glider only costs about £20k
Never actually flown a plane myself, but I did once get a free ride on the lfightdeck of a BAe ATP when I was on work experience at the local tin-pot airline . I got to press some buttons, it was ace...
