    oh I have learned loads

OK another - assuming all things are equal and I get better with time, and my reations come back to a semblance of useful... how many maps are there and are more due? Because as with all games.. local knowledge is equally important to game skill and I'm likely to keep at this one.

They plan to add maps, but I'm not sure how many. Apparently all DLC and additions to this game will be included within the original price, though that does seem too good to be true.

There's currently 9 in rotation. I've played a total of 25 hours so far and feel like I'm getting a good handle on them so far.

Battlefield titles have previously introduced new maps with paid-for DLC, with each one usually have four new maps. The problem with that approach has been that it splits up the community between those who buy the DLC & those who don't. The upshot is that a month or two after the DLC ships, it can be impossible to find a sever on which to play them. Starting with BFV, the developers have scrapped paid-for DLC, and instead introduced a programme of free additional add-ons for the game, that they've called 'Tides of War'. The first of these add-ons was released a week or so ago and is called Overture, and included an additional map called 'Panzerstorm' which is really focused on tank battles. There's also an additional single-player 'War Story' campaign called 'The Last Panzer'. DICE (the developer) haven't indicated how many new maps there will ultimately be for BFV, but I think it's doubtful there'll be as many as there were with the previous DLC system. I think the Tides of War updates are supposed to be funded through cosmetic micro-transactions. There was obviously a lot of negative publicity over Battlefront 2's 'pay-to-win' loot boxes, so I think the changes to BFV are a reaction to that.
