BF V - noobs questions and answers in here please

    Hello Soldiers

I won't beat about the bush...it was an arse to install for a bloke who didn't have any of the nvidia/ EA / Origin accounts/apps needed to download or play it on PC.... and once it was installed and I tried to play it... the menu's make no sense to a bloke used to a menu from 15 years ago...

but here we are and it looks great and plays well too.

So - lets begin at the beginning please if we can- cos I need some help.

First question- after I have finished playing.... and I click Quit... why does it spend SO LONG on the black screen with a little icon, top right going slowly round?
What is is doing and why am I sat waiting to turn off my PC? Last night it took over 60 seconds both times
Surely a game, when finished, closes to a main menu in a second. What's it up to?

60 mb/s broadband, perfectly adequate Ryzen 1700 with SSD's for Win 10 and the game....what is it doing?

Re: BF V - noobs questions and answers in here please

I've no idea why it takes so long to quit BFV, but BF1 was the same. I just use Alt-F4 when I quit the game, it's much quicker that way!

Second Question - if I play the Single Player campaign (not started yet) does it have any level up / exp toward the multiplayer?

Not really, just some unique skins and stuff like that. Nothing "game changing".

Strangely though my game closes down in 20 seconds or less. I have a much longer wait leaving the single player campaign to get back to the "main" screen

Re: BF V - noobs questions and answers in here please

(I'm purposefully ignoring human player based questions.. things like why doesn't anyone help or work together )

Next question - when I join a multiplayer... can I choose the people in my squad of 4? Or am I stuck with the randoms ? Can I create a fire team with my online mates?

You squad up with your pals before going into the multiplayer then the squad leader will find a game to join. If there's more than 4 of you wanting to play, say 6, you can split into two squads of 3. It's a little less straight forward and slightly annoying, but the squads will remain on the same team providing all of you carry on playing on the same server going forwards.

4 of you join the game, then one will leave the squad and create his own squad, then invite the remaining two into the game.

Voila - 6 players, 2 squads. We've had 10 or 11 on a few nights ago, we were dominating!

I don't know but as BF V apparently doesn't have any paid DLC I won't be happy if they are making extra money by running Seti@home in that loading period

Re: BF V - noobs questions and answers in here please

OK this is going well, thanks

Next question - last night in a 32 vs 32 (or similar..cant recall the exact amount) everyone was shooting off the map ... so I went on my belly to see what they are firing at and what was firing back.. and the game told me I was leaving the game area.. screen started greying out. I had to go back .. so what was "out there" ? glitch?

That sounds like the enemy's spawn. You likely had them pushed so far back that they were spawning into their own base instead of one of the capture points. It's a method of giving them some "space" where they don't get spawn killed.

There's a particular rocky outcrop near flag B in Yellow Fields that I've noticed the enemy can use to hide and snipe you. You can't get to them so they just poke their head round and snipe you. Other than that, it's a good mechanic IMO.

It closes the game & takes you back to the Desktop. It saves having to quit from the game back to the menu, & from there back to the Desktop. It certainly seems quicker than hanging around waiting for the game to do its thing.

It depends on the rifle or pistol you're using, and the distance from your target. Most sniper rifles will give you a single head-shot kill, but there are a few that are self-loading (like the KH-9) that will not kill with a single head-shot. Of course it also depends how much health your target has too. BFV introduced the 'attrition' system, which greatly reduces the amount of ammunition & health available to you - the idea being that you should rely more on your teammates to supply you with each. Also, if you get hit, your health won't regenerate back to full over time - the most you can regenerate is 50%
