It's sad but true. Why can't Blizzard and CCP etc try to put a stop to it?

Well, Blizzard have said that anyone selling accounts and trading items will find that the accounts are disabled..

Quite how well they're enforcing that I don't know...

How would they be able to tell if someone had bought an account from someone else? Tracking IP changes would not be a good idea because there are too many legitimate reasons for an IP change.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

The company mentioned in the article seem to get round this by selling a service and not the goods themselves. On their website there's a disclaimer stating that all goods are the property of the respective developers and that money is only accepted in return for a service provided.

I'm not sure but they might even be taking your account, working it for a few days, and then handing it back once they've achieved what you want.

However, you cut it, it's all a bit odd. Why buy a game and then get someone else to play it?

Its the powerleveling thing... you start your accuont, get it to say lvl 10, pass it to them and they get your to lvl 40 and give it back to you. For the people that carnt be arsed with the start of it however i cant see the point in wow.

They made a killing doing SWG when everyone was grinding for Jedi.

It's a shame that some people r willing to go to such lengths to purchasing such a service. I personally feel its part of the fun to start from scratch rather than have something ready made for u. Anyway like Dooms mentioned theres no point in it for WoW as u can level up pretty quick at the initial levels of a new character.
