    A Walk on the darkside...

Well, to know your enemy they say you have to think and act like them so I took that step, 1 more than normal and created an alliance character to see how the enemy operate and where their weak points are.

I have noticed one thing while doing this. The teamworking on the alliance is EMMENSE !!!! I was a lowly n00bin of a mage with skills in enchanting so far and while in goldshire people we're asking "who's an enchanter with skill less than 30" So I replied I was and within 3 minutes I had a queue of 4 people with a SHEDLOAD of green items that were no use to them nor me to disenchant to gain essences.

Later on, I was in a mine scouting for a mess about to see if there was any interesting items about when a NPC came and nearly kicked my ass from here to arathor and back. Within 2 seconds of the attack starting, 3 people that I do not know came and dug me out of a very deep hole indeed and killed the character that was nearly kicking my lowly mage like a football against a wall.

Its bizarre how 1 side does this yet the other doesn't. I have been in many a situation on the horde character where I've been getting attacked by 4-5 stormsnouts at the same time and people just ran past without a care in the world. Cut to the other server, that never happens as they seem to be working together more than normal.

So, there you have it - a report back from enemy lines fellas & ladies

i have similar tales to tell i started a Gnome rogue and for the lvl 10 quest i had to pick a NPC's pocket when i arrived there was a lvl 36 warrior there pummeling everything in sight including my quest NPC before i had chance to figure which one he was so to speak the character says "Stealth grab what you after then let me know when i can Kill him" he then held everything off while i grabbed my quest piece. this is one of multiple occurances where other players ive never met have dug me out of the proverbial especially big wave and howdy to the dwarf who revitalised me from 2 hp when i staryed into the WRONG!!! area and found myself surrounded by lvl ?? characters knocked me to 2 hp he healed me and kept healing me while i ran to safety "Big thanks" the alliance really are nice peeps.

On the Horde side when adventuring I havnt seen many ppl speaking to each other. They turn up somewhere and if ur already there they just try and get the drop on whatever ur both there for, rather than checking / grouping together just for the few mins that it would have taken. They rush in to tag it etc then slowly chip away at it because the other player doesnt help out... why should they when they'v stolen it and forced the player to wait around for the repop...

On the plus side tho I think we will do well with some of the other guilds. Who, like us want to have a better game with everyone working togther.

I agree. Maybe we should start doing this while doing quests and travelling from A to B. It only takes 1 guild to lead the way and the rest will surely follow

I have built up a bit of a bond with one of the high level umbrage fellas simply by waving and bowing to him when he passes ( which I do to all the hexus folks if I see them pass me ) He actually whispered me the other night asking if I could use a weapon that he had that he did not have the ability to use. Its SIMPLE things like this that make the game much better, hence the reason for my post as I was astonished to the chatting & actions of some of the alliance people last night and their warmth to people who are less than 10 in level.

They turn up somewhere and if ur already there they just try and get the drop on whatever ur both there for, rather than checking / grouping together just for the few mins that it would have taken. heh.. that old scenario. I was doing a quest the other night and needed to get the blood from 3 creatures when a kind person did this to me

On the plus side tho I think we will do well with some of the other guilds. Who, like us want to have a better game with everyone working togther.
I agree. but as always there is a minority spoiling it for the majority in general really.

Anyway, lets look to the future and spead happiness across the realm and have fun in the process

Well i have to say i simply don't agree, I've tried three times to right a reasonable and balanced response, but i can't. I simply don't find that i have a problem with people on the horde side.

I have many people outside the guild who i've helped and who i trade with.

wasnt saying there was a problem simply an increase in unknown random players helping each other on alliance....................................

its an observation so no need for a reasonable balanced response say what you see which you have.

I have to agree with TiG. I've helped and been helped several times whilst on a quest or just wandering around the more dangerous areas of the barrens. People wave and chat to be friendly and when in battle I've been healed and helping spells put on me. To be fair, most of them have been members of the Flaming Flamingoes (maybe I just made a name for myself there ) but they've been helpful nonetheless.

The other day I was in a mine in TB when someone whispered to me and asked me to join a group but I couldn't see anyone. I agreed to the group join and he ran to meet me. God knows where he had been but he'd seen me go into the mine, followed me in and gave, yes GAVE, me a pair of bracers that were much better quality than the ones I had on. He didn't even ask for the old pair in return. He just wanted people to wear the stuff he had made and that was reward enough.

I agree with Tig, many a time have I been helped out by people both with trading and adventuring.

Just the other day me, azog, lilith and velan were attacking a level 44 elite dragon. Another group happened by us and pitched in with the fight. Also many a time have a found myself being 'buffed' as I wander along.

As monkey has reiterated - this is not a dig at anyone in any shape or form, just an observation we encountered when we went on a recon mission to find their archilles heel for when the honour system comes active so we can go and raid and get loads of lovely points so we can then get the nice shiny newer items

Nope .. It was a recon run on the server to analyse, collate data ( heh realmplus stats system = the win! ) and see where the dangers are going to come from when the honour systems active and to also analyse the areas of the maps and to pin-point ideal ambush points for attacking the Alliance

certain peeps seemed to have missed the point of this post it was not and is not a dig at the horde players purely an observation of how the alliance players were last night nobody is or was saying that hexus player or even horde players were bad unhelpful people simply that in a single night as alliance a couple of us happened to notice extreme friendly play and an abundance of people willing to help without being asked. i dont dispute that you have had as have i similar circumstances and help from other horde players my point was that i was pleasently surprised by the quantity of helpful people.

    An observation.

This may stem from an attitude difference between PvP and PvE servers.
On a PvP server everyone gets frustrated when high level players kill everything in sight for the hell of it. Peeps therefore are more willing to club together and help out because they would be glad if it was them in need.

PvE only players see less of this as there are more solo players who want to run without aid and will actually complain if helped!

TBH (like last night) I've been helped many times when I've got in over my head. Wailing Caverns is a good example where people are often more than willing to join in. I think peeps try not to help if your killing completing a quest that they will have to wait ages for should you succeed, it is to their benefit after all.

I've often joined random groups to further different different players needs and always benefitted from preferential treatment when it comes to spare items.

My own personal rule is that if someone is likely to die without help and it's a fight that can reasonably be won then I'll join in. As long as they hit first they'll get the experience regardless

All I and others have said is that, in contrast to this observation, we've experienced lots of help. So, there you have it, one observation and a contrasting one. Unless, of course, we weren't supposed to reply...

I alway do that to complete strangers, especially with Rentau as he has what's considered to be the best buff in game.

Anyway, I wanna completely go against what WildmonkeyUK said. I played yesterday for a few hours with an alliance char I've made and I found people trying to mine the thing I was mining whilst I was mining it (the moment I finished, they started so I couldn't carry on!) and people were having the most ridiculous arguements and being bitchy on local. I couldn't stand having to keep ignoring people so I logged off. I know this happens in all games and all sides but I've never seen so much before!
