Microsoft Store Downloads
Hi!
I've just bought Forza 4 Horizon (for the PC - and an expansion pack) but can't download the game. There's a generic error message, and no help.
Microsoft don't appear to respond to feedback complaints.
Plus the game is 74GB :surprised:
It'll take a week to download... assuming it would actually download, but it doesn't I just get an error when I try and download.
Is this the future of gaming? I buy a game an then it fails to install? Why are games so HUGE?
Thanks
Josh
The add-on is downloading fine

This is the error for the failing download

I've also tried the suggested help of clearing the store cache (it didn't fix it).
Re: Microsoft Store Downloads
Ok, clicking X on them, and restarting them seems to have re-started the download(s) successfully... fingers crossed!
Re: Microsoft Store Downloads
It is huge.. but you'll see why it's worth it when you play it.
I've had quite a few problems with authentication on the MS store. The feedback link just takes you to where other people report the same thing, but you can go to MS support and chat to an agent who was in the end helpful (I got a bunch of powershell commands which did some magic and sorted the problems out).
Re: Microsoft Store Downloads
Are you downloading to an internal or external drive? A quick search on the net suggests others that solved a similar problem by changing the default download location. I've not personally downloaded anything that big from MS store, but have been thinking of getting Forza as well.
74GB is nothing compared to some of the games I've downloaded. Games like FFXV is 100GB, with an optional 4K texture patch that takes it up to 155GB. Fallout 4 with all the mods I installed was also well over 120GB. Just Cause 4 and Doom 2016 was over 60GB.... so yeah. These are just some examples. Some games are huge... but I also have games less than 1GB. Still play some games that are 120MB or less! But as @kalniel said, you will see why that game is that huge.

Na. Seems to be a problem either on MS' side or your end. It's not typical, and recently at least, I've not ran into an error like that (was an issue back in the day when I had a 56k Modem!). And I have a ton of PC games.
