Those Dutch Armed Trawlers kick your arse before you have even surfaced.

Last time I spotted one, they sniped my 'scope from 6k, forcing me to return to base as I could do naff all without it. :|

Surely that shouldn't be right? Weren't they normally un-trained and made armed just to try to protect themselves, but had very little effect?

Whats the screenshot button, did a print screen button job earlier...

Was doing the Bizmark mission when one of the destroyers started coming towards me, dived a bit n dropped the scope, he went straight over me, and I mean straight, I thought he was going to rip my tower off, I knew it was a screenie job as soon as I realised how close he was going to be, went to externals and just as he went over head and I was about to open up those awesome electric engines he dropped a depth charge right on my hull....

    game over

remember to hit del on your numeric keypad to get a clear screenie. Images are saved as bmps in the main SH3 folder.

It's what used to happen in WWI I was told, I suppose the technology wasn't good enough to perfect torps. You can turn it off in the difficulty features so you don't get duds.

On a side note, can you imagine being in a vessel and someone spots the waves on the surface heading directly at your ship, getting closer and closer, people below either start panicking or just sit there in complete silence, then *thud* the torp hits the side of the ship but doens't explode? Blimey, talk about intense!

Fire the torp so it's path is more or less perpendicular to the vessels hull.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.

Those destroyers are mad they just charge at you I get run over all the time

TBH I can stand the missions its too slow for me and after playing with the best sub the bog standard one is dire.

So I just play the single player missions they rock

Bouncing torps are a nightmare. I shot 4 off at a convoy 3 hit and went boom, next mission 4 hits and no booms

Hmmm, more torp practise needed here.

Damn things always missing, need more lead on them methinks, cos the ships always see em and speed up.

No campaign for me yet, but plenty of single mission action.
