    Handling Aggro...

I'm just wondering if someone could let me know what each of the highest aggro spells/abilities you have are?.

I believe the following to be true, but do not know some of the other classes..

Warlock : Searing Pain, Shadow Bolt, Rain of fire etc.
Shaman : Chain Lightning, Earth Shock.
    Mage : Fireball and pyroblast
Warrior : Mocking blow, Defensive stance, (one of the shouts to focus all on you for some time 2mins?)

Interested in Priests, Hunters, Rogues, Druids

    Cheers

Mage: Counterspell, any nuke really - arcane explosion tends to get me most aggro because of hitting multiple targets.
Warrior: Sunder is high aggro, taunt (obviously), I think rend and deep wound are good too.

    Hunter:

Pets growl, the higher level the grown on the pet, ranks 1-7 (AFAIK) the better the growl..... the higher level beast u can keep agro on. Can turn growl off if pet is about to die.........

Distracting shot is designed to pull agro, usually only works with beasts around max of +3 level.

To get rid of agro @ lvl 30 u get Feign death, allows you to pretend to die for up to 6 mins (30 sec cool down), if the temp rises.......

    Hunters:
Aimed shot does it pretty well with the hunter but takes AGES to cast.
Multi shot always pulls anyone who is not being attacked by the tank(s)
Volley will pull a lot of people as well and any critical strike will do the trick, about 15% of my shots are CS now

When you get into instances, do you gain aggro?, if so what did you use to do it?. IF the player gets hit by a mage's fireball, what do you do to regain aggro?.

    Aggro = Aggression
Keeping Aggro refers to keeping an attackers aggression targeted at you.

It's crucial for a tank to keep attackers focused on them to allow ranged attackers to get to range and get involved.

Of course if the tank is getting munched it's usefull to be able to take the aggro if you're at range to give the tank time to breathe and heal up.

Threat level then Zak, Its like you have some nice b17 bombers, being escorted by a set of p51s. The bf109g6's will take out the bombers with ease, unless the p51's keep their aggro

Consider myself a p51 and the hunters/mage etc as the bombers

I'm there to hold people's attention while the bombers decimate everything

    Aggro....right...got it

Nice..like sending one Il-2 in to take the attention of the Anti Aircraft fire while the others do the bizz on the ground targets...andholding their "Aggro" is the key.

    Cheers

You have, essentially 3 elements in a party - tanks, dps, healing.
An elite mob will make short work of a mage or priest, so you keep the mob hitting the tank, leaving the healers free to heal the tank and the dps to kill the mob.
Mages, rogues, hunters and warlocks generally count as DPS.
Priests are obviously healing, thought they can double as DPS if shadow specced and you need more damage.
Druids are healing unless in forms then they can be tank or DPS.
Warriors are tanks, as are paladins (on alliance).
Not sure where shamen fit as I don't play horde.

Rogue high aggro abilities are just the instant high damage ones, Ambush (450 crits), Backstab (700 crits), and Eviserate (1100 crits), damage values are for a lvl 48 rogue against lvl 45 elites.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Defensive Stance for Warriors seems to be pretty good, providing the warrior is of equal or higher level than the rest of the party. Mocking blow & Taunt are useful too.
