    Everquest2

I started playing this last week, is anyone else on here playing it?

Great game , I think, and the graphics are amazing in places (when you have several people doing spells at same time!)

Ive got a lvl18/10 barbarian/outfitter but im going to start characters when I get this to 20/20.

The begining i quite boring, doent get good untill your character is good enough to group for kiling the harder stuff..

Whats WOW like? Im tempted to play that if theres a free trial like with everquest

I dont see them doing a trial any time soon since they already have more people playing / trying to play than they can cope with. EQ2 only did the free trial becuase they had to do something to try and get people back.

I played it for a bit. Nice graphics and atmosphere....but just like every other MMOG, becomes boring quite quickly.

I totally agree with you here.

I played UO for about 2 years and EQ for about 4 and can totally see where your comin from. All the MMORPGs now are just a copy of someone elses work with different graphics. Dont matter how you cut it, there is only so many ways you can do it, the closest to origional was SWG, but even that was still the same basic MMORPG.

I must admit, I have been tempted by EQ2, just to see if its any good, but what made EQ special was the people, not the graphics (hell, go take a look at early EQ graphics, they were dire).

Same goes for UO, although that was greatly helped by what I consider to be one of the best craft systems to date.

The main thing that makes a difference is WHO you play with, its all very well grouping up and going for random XP, but its much better if your with a group of mates.

(BTW, Ever noticed how the "undead" in WoW look so much like the dark elves in EQ?)
