I quite agree, and thats why i'm saying thats down to the grouping issue of people around certain lvls working with each other extensively, making it that way.
I.e you can't break into their group. I'd like to hear what you think should be happening to make it less like that tho?. Happen to listen to suggestions.

Moral of the monastery thing seems to be - don't loot till the fight is over. Even if you aren't doing anything, you may screw up someone else (in this case ERU). It's not like the loot is going to instantly vanish.
What we have seen with Eru is one of the reasons why you shouldn't loot the bodies while fighting, if I'm in the middle of a heated fight I just wanna git rid of the roll boxes so I can see what i'm doing.
The game provides no way for the different level characters to interact as all the items i find are 40+ level requirement and as written by TiG different level people can't group well together.
The situation will be greatly improved when we all start hitting 55-60, this means not only will we all be around the same level, but we will be a lot more experienced.
Also, here is a good thread about how to keep aggro with a warrior, but it's also a good idea for everyone else to read it as it can improve your understanding of how it works allowing you to play better in a group.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
Going along the in the same vein i just saw this:
When to roll for loot? - an interesting question with differing opinions
