    Tauren - Uber l33t warrior?

Talking about PvP I was in Stonetalon last night and was attacked by elves by the gnome just outside the goblin work camp, he was level 31 and I was 27 and I thought that was it for me, amazingly though I defeated him relatively easily!!

I am tricked up with all the latest gadgets from AH and have lots of bonuses but he said on chat that he was amazed as well, all his elf mates said the same, so are Tauren really that good? Ive had some duels too with higher levels and easily defeated them, one that springs to mind was a lvl 30 hunter, he didnt have a chance

I cant see it making that much difference. PvP wise being tauren can be a bit of a down point since your bigger than everyone else so everyone goes for you

In PvP a warrior should easily defeat a Hunter in a straight fight. Over a three level difference it would be harder but I can certainly understand it!

I don't think there is any particular class always beats class...

Its down to the invididual player, how much they know their abilities vs how much they know the enemies. A hunter in a duel MUST, get to bow range otherwise they are dead meat. Even a mage should stay close to a hunter, as its hand to hand damage isn't half as lethal as their bows/guns.

But i would say that in a duel i'd fancy my chances against anything same lvl or 2 to 3 lvls above, against pretty much anything as my shaman

The problem with a Hunter in PvP is that, unlike PvE, human players tend to ignore your tanking pet and head directly for the Hunter. The chances of a Hunter keeping usable range 1vs1 against even a semi-concious opponent are slim. Minimum range is a killer and only concussion arrows really help.

    Yeh,

I find my shaman even at lvl30 has a good spectrum of spells and talents etc to deal with most situations, its all down to the strategy implemented against certain foes, timing being essential including healing or potion use; and the execution of the abilities you have at your finger tips (critical hit) this can be effected by the way you set up your character with talent points which decides the type of sub-class route you play.

I find rooting and then taking two steps back is good. You're out of melee but below minimum range for guns/bows. Which means you can attack them, but they can't attack you.

As a lvl 30 priest I must protest the callous way in which you all so easily kill the enemy.

I myself have lasted over 4 min in a duel against a fighter 4 levels below me. I fended him off quite well, right up until I zapped the little upstart with a mindblast spell I found a headless chicken impersonation fooled him no end, and whilst I healed up on the sly my DOT knocked him down a treat.

So please play with your quarry b4 you kill it. It never hurts

My 46 Shaman utterly obliterated a 53 Druid yesterday in a duel ... I had some nice Windfury procs and I have a 20% crit chance with my Grace of Air totem up; they ended up on 15% hp before they'd cast a spell ... is nice

Priests are evil in duels. Mind control and fear are sick.

I love fighting warlocks and mages, never fought a priest before but i'm sure it would be just as easy As long as they don't see while stealthed, I can hit then for about 800-900 damage on the first hit (ambush), about 600 (backstab) on the second hit, and they are pretty much dead, with WotF to stop Fear A good mage will frost nova me and run, but it doesn't last long enough to get away and kill me.

Warriors take a little more time, I usually just try to keep them stunned and hack away at them

I've never fought a hunter or a shaman (obviously) in PvP but I know how to fight against them. For hunters either, sap the hunter and kill the pet then kill the hunter from close range, or ignore the pet and kill the hunter as fast as possible. For chamans you just need to keep them stunned and use kick as soon as you see a healing spell, but they are hard from what I hear.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

A good mage will blink after the first hit then polymorph you. After that it's usually game over for the rogue as the mage gets to bandage up and then offload their biggest couple of spells with impunity. Any mage that just stands there or tries to nova and run is not a good mage.

The last mage I fought polymophed me and managed to take half my hp before I got back to him, but I had already Ambush+Backstabed him so a stun, then backstab and finishing move killed him before he could let off another spell.
