    Re: VR game suggestions?

I expect you to die, Abode 2, Obduction, Half Life Alyx, FORM, Gnog, Project CARS 2, DiRT 4, Beat Saber, Pistol Whip, Superhot VR

All VR games I've played and enjoyed, I'm limited in office space due to it being in the roof space with sloped ceilings, and most of them (except beat saber, superhot and pistol whip) can be played fairly comfortably sitting down. I find the adventure/puzzle/escape genre a really good fit for VR, they are immersive and benefit from the VR experience without having to flail around or walk in to stuff. Driving/Racing is hit-or-miss, GT Sport on the PS4 seemed to nail it more than anything I've tried so far on PC, but Project CARS 2 came close.

    Re: VR game suggestions?

Half Life Alyx. Audioshield. Beat Sabre. Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. HoloBall. Space Pirate Trainer.

Project Cars 2 and Assetto Corsa Competizione are both excellent for racing sims.

    Alyx, beat saber.

HL1 is fun, I know the quest has a version(as well as blue shift and opfor) but not sure if the rift can play a VR modded version of the original or not.

    Re: VR game suggestions?

Most of my VR time has been spread between Beat Saber, Elite Dangerous and Half Life Alyx.

Your machine will struggle with Elite in places, but if you don't have it already it turns up for a fiver occasionally and would be worth a punt at that price. Needs a HOTAS controller though to really play it.

There are quite a few VR driving games out there if you have a steering wheel, possibly a game controller. They all seem good in their own ways, though Dirt Rally tends to give me nausea pretty fast. Put them all on your Steam wishlist, and get one if it turns up cheap.

    Re: VR game suggestions?

I've picked up Hot Dogs, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, just played around on the basic shooting range and squeeee they've got 2 of my all time fav guns, the HK G11 and the EM2, although I wish they let you swap out the optic
Also had a play on the lab, fun little free experience
Elite I already have, just never got around to playing it yet

VR adds an amazing level of immersion, specially in dogfights. I have spent far more on joystick HOTAS controllers than the cost of the game though

One of the Tomb Raider games apparently has a VR level in it. I haven't tried it, but mention it as lots of people are into tomb raider so you might have it kicking around already.

I still go back and play a couple of the mini games in The Lab quite regularly. Specially "Longbow" which can get quite frantic.

    Re: VR game suggestions?

Another vote for Project Cars 2 - awesome fun in VR and no motion sickness (in contrast to rallying sims, which I find very unpleasant in VR)

I'm also currently playing through Star Wars: Squadrons and really enjoying it.

I know flight sims aren't everyone's cup of tea but, if they're yours, FS2020 is pretty cool in VR too. It's even more demanding on your hardware in VR though so, like me, you'll likely need to dial the visual fidelity way down unless you've got a 5900X and 3090.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned above, but Valve's The Lab is great fun too, and free (via Steam). It's basically a series of mini-games to showcase VR, some are better than others but they're all entertaining. My favourite is probably the slingshot game where you have to launch little talking bombs at huge piles of crates

    Re: VR game suggestions?

Steer clear of MS Flight Sim, holy cow the performance is bad. The tearing all over the screen was bad and then turning whilst in the air made me want to hurl.

Not ever had that with any other VR game.

    Re: VR game suggestions?

Weird, I don't get any motion sickness with it at all (and I do with quite a few other games, e.g. any rallying games, bouncing around in the Scarab buggy in Elite Dangerous).

I do agree the performance isn't great at the moment though. To get a smooth experience with my 5800X/1080Ti I have to turn the detail so far down it looks like I'm playing FSX.

    Re: VR game suggestions?

Beat saber is great fun and can be a good workout! Pavlov VR is a great first person shooter. Rec room is free and some easy fun especially playing paintball or laser tag. VR Chat is brilliant you can meet people from all over the world and it's also free. Depending on your PC, MSFS VR is very immersive and beautiful but EXTREMELY demanding on your cpu and gpu.

I just had a thought today, minecraft vr . . . umm it's been so long since I logged in/last played that I have a slight issue, website wants email address, the one I originally used no longer exists, so I'm not sure my account works :/

Doesn't that just mean that you can't recover the password? As long as you can remember your old password, you can probably log in and might be able to change it to a new email address.

Edit: I hope they changed the movement though. I tried it a couple of years ago, I had to use my Minecraft account to get a free copy of Minecraft for Windows 10 which has the VR enabled, and it had the worst motion sickness of any game I have played. Those blocks too, they are supposed to be 1m on a side and in VR they really looked it!
