    Rest - the way forward.....

    Hi,
I spent a night away from Wow the other day - first time in ages and when I logged back in the following day my rest state bonus was over half the xp for the next level If I go and kill the same lvl or 1 lvl higher beasts (like STW Tigress) then I get 500xp for each kill ! . I ended up levelling to 38 in the space of an hour - no kidding. I made something like 20kxp in doing this - it was that fast. So the big plan now is to take a few nights off anf just lvl with rest bonus - its far faster than questing which has an average award of 2200 xp for each

I always use rested XP to cover the latter half of a level's XP or so, spending my entire day in front of WoW vegetating isn't my idea of fun, or healthy for that matter.

The downside to using rested XP is you don't (necessarily) generate as much loot/gold as you would have by killing/questing in normal time so when you hit the level those expensive spells can be just that wee bit more (or too) expensive.

its handy having two characters for this reason - you can always play one when you're resting the other

    bust a nut

I can see what you mean, after a week off I'm getting mega xp. I'm trying to enjoy the game as much as possible at my own pace, this means exploring all the nooks and trying not to let quest go gray to much, but thats just me.

Although the majority of the guild is higher than me I don't whant to bust a nut trying to get up with them, there always seems to be new charactors coming up through the ranks which is good and quite often leveling past me in a blink. I don't mind being in the amblers club aslong as we stick together

I think my alt has about 5 levels worth of restedness at the moment as I created it a while back but have stayed mostly playing my rogue as I want to get to lvl 60 before spending a lot of time on other characters.

The rested state gives you 200% (double) experience for the period that you are rested, it would be quicker to level by playing everyday, but if you play every other day then you will level up slower, but will have spent less total time playing WoW.

I think the maximum rested you can have is 1.5 levels...but yeah it definately allows quicker levelling.

Is it? Damn, I created all the characters I planed on playing in the near future (troll priest and a tauren druid) to give them loads of rest

Yep I can confirm 1.5 lvls is the max i've had. I tend to log in and put a lvl on each of my other chars now and again to keep them going and maximising XP gained from rest.

Still 1.5 levels of rest bonus is a heck of a markup for doing nothing - is there any way to measure how much bonus you get for how much rest assuming you are logged out in an inn (which I always am)
    cheers

On your exp bar there is a marker that shows how rested you are, the area from your current exp level to that bar is shaded slightly blue, and if you are fully rested then the whole bar is shaded slightly blue.

But past one level you can't see how rested you are AFAIK.
