Nope, but in contested areas or the opposite factions areas you are automatically pvp enabled, so you don't get any of this standing outside crossroads like wimps like on our server.

No, only from high pop servers to low pop servers, but that will be Blizzards choice, and I believe only available in the US at the mo.

but that would make it impossible to do any quests in STV for instance as youd alsways be getting killed, as I understand it you get no xp from killing other players so levelling up would be a nightmare?

You need to either be very careful or not go it alone, or try and get their first! Anyway, when the honour system comes into place, there'll be no point people ganking you so it won't happen as much. Apparantly it doesn't happen all the time, it's just nubs and kids that will try and kill everything. Heck, look at the lvl 20 something who tried to attack a pvp enabled Leon (lvl 57)! LOL!

Well I'll wait for that patch then and see if it stops the sillys , but tbh PvE is PvP just a bit more controlled, I think the frustration with PvP will be that you really do need to be ingroups to do anything contested.

I am playing on pvp server.

Sometimes you'll get killed, sometimes if an enemy is 15 levels above you they will ignore you. Sometimes you'll be fireballed by a horde player while you are talking to an npc. Sometimes you will send in a spell which will ensure that in a battle between a beastie and an enemy the beatie will win. Sometimes you will save the enemy by killing the beast and then will let him go. Its the options and the unknown that make it fun.

I had to do a quest in shadowfang keep - its next to a village in the undead area. Took me a while to get there and i died a couple times on the way coz beasts were 5-6 levels higher than me, plus i ran in into some horde (although some left me alone). But when me and a couple others got to the meeting stone we just waved to the horde who were there and they waved back at us. It was cool. Not knowing whats going to happen next is an attraction. This is why i ended up not playing on Arathor, even though i started a char.

Plus what are you supposed to do when you are level 60?

Well I am also on a PvP server named Dunemaul and I am in a guild The Old Garrison. I have to say that PvP is alot more fun than PvE plus the server is alot busier and you meet alot more people. It is also fun when you enter a contested territory and have to watch out for Horde guys. My friend and I had alot of fun in Stonetalon ambushing and killing Horde guys.
