RP = no PvPing at all I think and guards in opposing faction towns don't attack you.
It's a pity that this seems to be the case, I always thought that Blizzard seemed to be a very 'fun' company with happy people who inserted lots of amusing stuff in their games and seemed to really enjoy making a quality product i.e starcraft/warcraft3Originally Posted by Iain

I got back in at about 7:45pm (just after my first post in the thread) onto Ragnaros PvP server, login was very slow but it got there eventually.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
I had a rest from the frustration of logging in and managed to finally get in at about 10pm. Most of the time I couldn't even get to the character selection screen so I couldn't set up a new character or change server or anything. It was very, very annoying.
Really? Me, Leon and Mblaster (so far) have created a few alliance chars on Ragnaros, it's great so far, I love running around contested areas (only been to Ashenvale and Wetlands so far which are contested) and fearing being jumped. Gets the adrenalin rushing just thinking about it.Originally Posted by madocks
To be honest, the mess ups that Blizzard are making with the servers are a real let down to the game. Why can't any company just get it right for once? Why don't they listen to their paying customers?
I could go and d/l a game for free and play it for free and even patch it for free, but you can't play WoW for free you have to pay, and the amount of money they're getting in Europe alone is unreal! The odd free day here and there probably costs them very little but it doesn't make up for the mistakes in the first place!
Yeah, they are making insane ammounts, over £10mill with the box sales and first month of payment in Europe alone!

Over this last weekend we have seen a huge number of players online, many exploring the vast richness of Azeroth for the first time. Unfortunately, on Sunday we experienced unscheduled downtime at one of our hosting centers due to a network switch failure which caused realms in this particular hosting center to go offline. This also made the authentication servers unavailable for some hours, thus while players on other realms could continue playing, it was impossible to log in and join them.
We realize the amount of frustration such downtime during the most active playing period of the week causes and therefore decided to give all players a one-day time extension on their accounts. We are working hard to avoid unscheduled downtime in the future.
No I hadn't read that, but what's the point? They shouldn't need to give us free days if they did the job right in the first place. OK, so there was a hardware failure, but why wasn't it sorted immediately, especially if they don't even host their own servers? Why aren't Blizzard grabbing this hosting company by the nuts and getting them to sort it out?
