Maybe that's just in the newbie areas as there's more than any other server (coz these are new and lots of people who bought the 250k copies will also have chosen a new server), but ping rarely goes over 100 and I rarely get lag...

I just wanna say that I am not giving up on Arathor, just at the moment I'm having a lot of fun and am looking forward to trying out a PvP server. But to be honest, you won't see any real PvP action (read fear) until you hit lvl 20, as most contested areas start at lvl 20 upwards.

It was decided when the guild was set up to go with a PvE server. By using a PvP server, people that have not played the game before would get very annoyed being killed after going auto pvp when entering a contested area. It was done, Bertie, for the good of the guild.

No dude, at the moment I don't have the time to put into my high level character where single quests take a long time. After reading MBlaster's PvP post I thought I would give it another shot. Also by leaving Thor alone for a bit means I can do more adventuring with you guys when I come back (as there will be more at my level ).

    See you all in game!

It won't be long until we will be doing our first instance The Deadmines, I got a quest for that last night, but I need a couple levels first.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

The Deadmines is 15-25 I think I saw last night, it's in Westfall. The quests are as follows so we'll have to have a group in their 20's to do the Elite quest!

    (17) Red Silk Bandanas
    From Scout Riell in Westfall.

    (18) Collecting Memories
From Wilder Thistlenettle in Stormwind City.

    (20) Oh Brother. . .
From Wilder Thistlenettle in Stormwind City.

    (20) Underground Assault
From Shoni the Shilent in Stormwind City.

    (22) The Defias Brotherhood
    From Gryan Stoutmantle in Westfall.

    (22) The Defias Brotherhood (Elite)
    From Gryan Stoutmantle in Westfall.

Rewards look blooming good, take a look at these for example:

    Staff of Westfall

    Tunic of Westfall

    Chausses of Westfall

I see a lot fo lvl 18's asking for groups for deadmines, maybe it's only the end part that needs lvl 20's. Thottbot is blocked here

No, because we're not giving them up.

And any experience of WoW isn't a waste of time, all the time I'm playing (well, nearly) I'm learning something new. Plus the more I know about both sides, the more advantage I'll have in PvP on either server I think.

Yeah, we are in no way leaving our players in Arathor, I'm playing my characters about half and half at the moment, but on Slarys i have 80% elite quests, and I need to wait until there are some more high level people there to give us a hand in Blackrock Depths, and the other elite ones that I have.

i dont fancy doing PvP tht much either - it really annoys me when people sneak up on me & try to kill me - usually on 5% health - so i dont think Pvp is really for me

I thought that, but it also annoys me when you get alliance camping outside XR challening people and not going PVP enabled. Or, if you kill them once, they can wait 5 mins, res and they're not PVP enabled anymore.

I'm not bothering with PvP either, the Alliance can jump on XR as much as they like TBH, you don't have to react to the taunts (Only reason I go to XR much now is to pick up a windrider to somewhere else..)

Well I just mentioned XR as an example, it can happen anywhere really. Anyway, I'm not going to try and get people to change servers, that would be unfair of me. I just find there to be more excitement when playing against others and they, or you, can't just hide for 5 mins to be safe.

To speak directly, imho casual players act as cattle in PVP server for 24-7'ers to camp on for honor points. PVE server is definetly way to go if you can not commit huge amounts of time to the game. PVP is 80% gear 15% skill 5% class in massive party-vs-party enviroment. And raid aquired gear is so much superioirty, you will end frustrated without it.

Ofcourse tough its fun for the first 2 months, when everyone is equal what it comes to gear, but then it gets nasty. If someone dosn't belive me, duel me sometime in Arathor to see the difference. (and I'm 100% PVE talented warrior)

Just my 2cp about PVP servers.

I tendto turn into a bit of a mad banshee tho when playing Pvp and start yelling obscenities at people.

I dont like myself like this - hence no PvP
