I haven't done any myself yet but I was in Ratchet last night and there were Alliance everywhere. Might have been diversionary, I don't know, but Ratchet!! You would have thought they would have better things to do.

EDIT: judging by some of the comments in this thread the ganking of low level areas is quite endemic.

At least you can shield, renew and run. But it's not any use against the lvl ??'s.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

I know how you feel. My Alliance Rogue is questing in Redridge too, but I was lucky to be able to escape the attacks with my Rogue. Haven't yet been attacked by a level ?? though, I don't think I would survive without Sprint and Evade!

This doesn't make sense tho Beach, I'd say if anything ganking is less common now than it before the Honour system was put in. Raiding happed with the sheer objective of wiping out the town and everything in it.

Now there are distinct objectives, not to kill guards, certainly not to kill quest givers and NPC's, but to kill human players within 10 lvls of you.

I kill very few sub lvl 40's now, unless they are engaging in PVP and are asking for trouble. I have been killed by 4 lvl 33's last night and you can't ignore them.

LVL 60's killing me at 49 gain them nothing.. yet its not ganking, its killing me off before i kill them hehe.

Something i do frequently atm with help

    Hey! don't shoot the messenger

As I said, I haven't done it and, to be honest, it doesn't really appeal. I was just reporting what I've read. One of the posters in the Guardian thread is talking about the US servers and, without wishing to generalise in any way, our American cousins can be a bit gung-ho so it may be different than the European servers.

That said, the general complaint, as the first poster (I think) noted, is that there's no penalty for being dishonerable there's just no reward.

I tend to view solo level-?? characters engaging gaurds (still seems to be peeps doing this) from some clandestine spot whilst a guard softens them up then jump out frost shock them to stop there escape and proceed to merrily zapp and hack along with the gaurd.

I think that people should get negative honour for killing someone more than 12 levels below them, unless that person attacks them first. Personally, I think that might counter the issues people have with "ganking". Killing someone 12 levels below you to 12 levels above you should count as positive honour, like it does, and someone more than 12 levels above you should count as double positive honour.

Sounds a bit like what happened to me last night. Was sat on my horse near southshore and a ~35 shaman and warrior ran up. Got frost shocked and they rushed in... Then I just AEed them down. Shocks don't work so well on instant spells.

As for sheild being gone in a hit - that still happens at 60. A good crit by many classes can top 1000 damage which will blow through any shield in one.

The first reason NOT to do that is that you can easily disable the use of AE spells in a raid by bringing a few low levels. Also there will be low levels annoying the high levels constantly and there is nothing that can be done about it.

Are silence spells the only prevention to instant cast? I don't think the shaman has any spells to this effect as far as I'm aware? If so you dead sucker

But without something protecting the low levels they will continue to be cannon fodder and wiped out with ease, sometimes for no reason what-so-ever.

Yes silence is the only thing that works. Luckily I have an instant cast silence spell.

Firstly my knowledge on pvp is wafer thin so excuse me if this seems silly. If low level players chose to group with higher pvp'ing gangs ok, but low level players in a pvp enabled area with no intention of engaging get targeted there should be a tab to toggle pvp on off accordingly no?

Oh but earth binding totem will stop your escape my friend, then your silence is useless against the resonance of my heavily buffed axe singing off your skull

lol no more from me on this, interesting though to discuss tactics.
