    Oh heck, not again

    Is it just me?

    Monday, bank hol, nice day to blast a few spiders etc to bits, and I can't get on!

    Can connect but cannot get Arathor, or other realms. One, the RP, said I was in a queue at 184!!

    Checked WOW's website and I think that is down. Big script page, nothing else. Either that has been hacked, the game has been hacked, they have oversold boxes (most likely) and crashed it out, or my computer is naff. I suspect it is not the last.

    Oh well, another evening lost to the ineptitude of Blizzard in their relentless quest for maximum money over product quality

    This seems to have affected all realms. It's the complete lack of information from Blizzard that incurs the most anger. All they need to do is say it's a bug with x and it will take roughly y hours to fix and then provide regular updates. Instead they tell us nothing and expect us to like it. Their tech and customer support needs to be seriously overhauled to deliver a good service.

    In addition they did say that May 1st is a French holiday during which they were unable (for legal reasons) to provide a normal level of support. Therefore, I wouldn't expect anything to happen too quicky tonight.

    It's supposed to be a 24/7 service so Blizzard should have "follow the sun" support centres to manage this. Especially given its popularity.

    They did say what happened -
    Due to problems with the air conditioning in one of our datacenters we are forced to conduct an emergency shut down to certain realms. This process will take place immediately and our network provider partner has assured us that they are working on this problem to solve the issue as quickly as possible. Thank you for your understanding and apologies for the inconvenience. We will let you know as soon as we have updated information.
