because black is the uber colour that all the script kiddies want to be
My guess is that it's rare; I don't think you can buy it from a vendor.

Silver is rare to - Bought some off someone for 100g last night, and sold it for 5 times that a few minutes later
I think I could have got more for it too...
I may go into the dye business!
Yeah I was making my clothes purple, as it was cheap, and the silver and black dyes were really expensive. When I'm rich eh...

I've got some bow upgrade parts, if you want to buy them? There's a lightning string I can give you, it'll make your bow do lightning damage? Or a sundering one, which makes it 10% more likely to pierce armour?
Do I just take those to a weapons bloke, and add them?
Nope, you do it yourself. You double click an upgrade part, then click your bow, and you're done.
