    Guild Bank Account

Your glorious leadership has been discussing a way to set up a bank account for the guild.

The idea is that the higher lvl players contribute to this fund (stored on an alt on Thors account). This fund will go towards such things as:

    • Long Term loans for players reaching lvl 40 and needing to buy a mount.
    • Paying guild members a stipend for donating a Purple item to a guild member who can use it.

Funds to be distributed by majority vote of the leadership.

We wish to avoid this from turning into a 'guild tax'. Donations will be exactly that. What we'd like to know is your opinions and suggestions for ways we can make this fund work for us all.

    Sounds a good idea.

As you say, we need to think through how to get it to work in practice.

I had tried this many times in another MMORPG I played (runescape) and it didn't work well at all, it just didn't get used, just biult up **** loads of money because no-one had a good reason to take any.

But if this goes ahead, I put in a request for a loan for my lvl 60 mount
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Mount loans and buying purple items from guild players.

Basically, someone in the guild finds a nice purple item thats good for a warlock. ATM, he could make 200G for it on the AH, or give it to a friendly guild warlock for nothing, or what the warlock can afford. If the warlock only has 40G, noone blames the person for selling on the AH.

With the guild bank account, the player can be payed a fair amount for giving the purple item to the warlock, and the guild wins!

Useful in theory, but I can't imagine it biulding up money very fast, because everyone in the giuld needs their money at the moment. Once I have my lvl 60 mount and full shadowcraft set sure, but I need all the money I can get at the moment.

For items it could work better, I often find I need to vendor items that might be wanted by someone else because I am running out of space in my bank.

If this is implemented well, I can see this being very helpful to the guild. My thoughts:

    1) Creating an account and giving the guild master and officers access, just in case of absence/someone leaving etc. (obviously this will rely heavily on trust, and also people donating 50p or so a month for this to happen, only if they're happy with it - I would be )

    2) For items, a full list should be kept on the forums, with links to Thottbot and small descriptions. Will need large containers for the char to carry and for the bank and char shouldn't need anything else. Items should be sent out to those who need them, and lower level/more suited peeps should have the first refusal. For example, a level 40 pair of leather gloves should be given to a level 40 Druid, over a level 45 Hunter, as the hunter can get better equip for their level and can also wear mail after lvl 40.

    3) For money, a full account of money received and money sent out should be kept also on the forums. Money only to be sent out when agreed with 2 or more gm/officers. Working in accounts, I volunteer to keep this up to date - if no-one objects!

    4) If people aren't happy with keeping this info freely available on these public forums, I can setup a secure site (with a little help) on my TS server and make it only available to Hexus Horde members.

And finally, I think the char should be called Hexusbank!

Sounds good fellas, as long as its going to benafit all in the guild I'm all for it. I've seen an Umbank level1 char in Og out side the bank, so I assume other guilds have put this idea into action already, I wonder how they are getting on with it.
    Rhyth is selling:
Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 XR Di ll LD Aspherical (IF) £230 +pp
    Canon 50mm 1.8 II £50 +pp
    Proven good copies.

How else would people know what there is in the Guild Bank without it being written down?

Tell you what, we can experiment. I can setup a forum if you like, nice and easy. Have done them before. Just put in there 2 posts, one for money, one for items. Money would be easy to track, items may be a little time consuming, but I wouldn't mind doing it if it benefits everyone! When an item is sent, I'll add it to the list. Someone requests it, it's sent, removed from the list. Items that are there over 2 or 3 weeks are sold on AH, or vend, and added to guild fund, or sent to enchanters for disenchanting?

Believe me, I have the time, I just don't use my time very well in game!

Yeah, it's a good idea, and if you've got time then great Although if more than one person is going to have access to it then we need a separate account... That means an extra £8.99 (i think?) per month.
