Ahhh man Well, good luck in your dull, boring, WoW free life

Hopefully plenty more fun to be had before you go though! Been a pleasure saying "Yes, Thor" "Of course, Thor" "No, of course I don't mind you didn't bring any Ankhs (again) and I have to run half way across this map to reincarnate. Again. Its fun!"

    Good luck mate
    Well Hello!

Well we have only had one candidate step forward:

    Scientist (Velan in game)

Does anyone else want to apply for the job?

Give it time, I'm sure someone else will. If not, I'll step up, just to make it fair, but I'll hardly get any votes, so it probably wouldn't be worth it anyway!

Sad to see you going to be absent for a while.....

BTW, gimme a shout when you get into Brum, my new restaurant will be opening the next couple of weeks, come in sometime......you never know, I might hook up BB on wireless there...!

I'd personally like to vote for someone who is online a fair bit, like Lillith or Maddocks......

Sorry to see you go (for a while anyway). You headed the guild up well, not many concerns or complaints you didn't have a level head on for.

Great shame for you that Aberystwyth is connected to the internet, but that back water place.....Birmingham? wheres that?........has not

When you return, will it be at lvl 1? Great reason to play the game over

I wish you well in you travels. Setting up house after uni is a good move forward. Also a little expensive if you were not aware

Hope everything goes well, and please, do drop in at the forum, just don't get too upset you can't enjoy what we are talking about.

    Thanks mate.

I have had my fair share of leading roles in clans before and I've found my 'passive leading' technics don't work (e.g. I don't have the commitment to be leader).
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

    Sorry to hear that Thor.

On the other note why do we need a guild leader ? It has worked reasonably well in the past but with Thor standing down it may well be better to have a leadership based on a group of people. In addition, this group of people should not be made up of the lvl 55+ members of the guild, it should include those at lower levels as well (although a minimum level of 20 may be prudent). That way we can avoid creating a leadership which is regarded as a clique by lower members and ensure we get the viewpoint of people at all levels. To this end we could have a leadership of 5 (to ensure we never have a hung vote) and possibly set up a rotation scheme to change a leader every 3 months or so.

    Just my thoughts.

I can agree with you AZ, do we actually need a leader?? and yes having a range of officers from a wide range will help.

However, I think lvl 30 would be a better minimum. After all you can reach lvl 20 after days play, personaly i dont think lvl 20 is enough experience.

If a guild leader is required, id love to see in place - MattaK

Iain, good idea but you need "a" guildmaster technically speaking, for the guild to exist...so somebody needs to be that person...of course if you want THAT to rotate cool...but yeah we're not in a guild where the GM is god and everyone else pap or anything...the whole clique thing I think is just that there is never a perfect number of people for anything..either 4 or 6 for an instance ...and people who quest together, stay together...nothing personal, intended or anything, just the way the cookie has crumbled so to speak...and no doubt feels bad for the people who get left out, and for that of course I'm sorry...

*edit* apologies for how badly this particular post reads in terms of grammar!

*edit2* and thanks for the vote mad, much appreciated, but i won't be standing, I'm too much of a ditherer and apologise far too much to be of much use as GM! Oh and I die lots Bit embarassing for the GM to have 0 Honourable Kills!

In the rugby club im with, we have an AGM, (anual meeting) where people vote for you etc, perhaps we could addopt that policy,

Every 3 months the guild leader and officers stay in power, unless someone wishes to challenge their place, then its down to voting.
