I know, hence the "I know you have some reservations", I was hoping he would change his mind.

If not, isn't it about time we set the poll up and Velan and Az can take it to the voting public?

Oh, and how can we vote? if we set up a poll here, anyone who's a member of the Hexus formums could vote, so how could we limit it to just guild members? Would we have to vote in game (send a mail with preference on to a designated person?) or is there another way?

I wish I hadn't stepped down as Officer now, I also wish I could contain my jealousy, otherwise I would also put myself forward. I doubt I would get any votes if I did now though...

This is about being Guild Master, we should make a decision on that basis - who is best to lead the guild forward. No-one else can put you forward, so if you want a run at it, then say so now.

ive had an alternative idea - this does not mean i do not have faith in any of the candidates who have put themsleves forward cos i do

What if someone created an extra charater on their account that could be a non playing guild leader. Any decisions to be made for the guildcould then be done on a commitee basis with a nominal head

Sorry RP, but imo that'll never work. Any decision that needs to be made will take up 4-5 pages of forum space and, ultimately, get us no-where. Blimey! we can't even decide what to do with the Guild Master position

Even if the commitee is limited to a sub set of guild members, who picks them? do we need another voting thread for commitee memebers? Thor will be an old man collecting his pension money in the Birmingham of the future before we decide on a voting process to elect the commitee.

Been mulling this thread over and whether i would put my name forward as some people suggested via pm's.
After reading this thread a few times i think it seems best to appoint Az as he has obviously been shown to all as trustworthy due to his involvement in the forums.
I was basically thinking of standing as i could represent the whole guild, as opposed to the top end and have massive experience with gaming communities elsewhere as some of you know. Hehe i'm still an admin on a few servers elsewhere that perhaps i should say i don't play anymore now
This thread shows we all have different ideas about the guild and what it does. I would like the guild to be a place to meet and chat - nothing more and anyone who can reinforce that gets my vote. I would like officers to have a bit more responsibility and be appointed on their merits as opposed to being someone’s mate. These people need to be also very trustworthy and able to act in given situations appropriately. It would be great if officers could voluntarily try to organise things inside/outside the game and promote the 'Guild of love' ethos that we don't all seem to get atm. I would like Hexus to become a guild where we ALL help each other without questioning, moaning and people jumping to conclusions.
This Guild could be great if we aim to achieve goals all the time but in my experience it will also die a quick death. If we play as a community that helps each other to play a game we will last for as long as we want to ....

Where's the discussion on why to vote for those who put their name up? Pros & Cons

What is the new GM going to do for the Guild? What is he/She going to do to advance the guild? Which is important.

How will officers be picked? How can you gain a promotion? (I know the answers to this already)

I feel like the invisible man sometimes! I raised that point and received no response. I suggested an in game vote but I can't see that working as we're never all on at the same time. Struggling to see another way really, what's your suggestion Madocks?

But this way, all of hexus gets votes, and AZ (not saying he would) is an admin on these forums so can check each persons vote, to see who voted to and against him.....................
