Agreed, that would work. Do you mean a forum pm or an in game mail? I'm also confused now, is Eru standing? I think we need to start this again, it's gone a bit awry.

forum,
Not sure,
Allen and eru have both talked about standing, i think both are testing the water before making their minds up
Why not finalise your candidates then blind vote by ingame mail to Big Leon, job sussed.
Guys,
as has been said, chances are whoever is the next GM isn't going to rampage, kicking out all the nice people and bringing in aliens, ruining the reputation of Hexus.
The login-guild message says read the forums; people are obviously doing this. If anyone had major objections to the candidates (not the procedure; we could have a postal ballot, but this isn't the general election you know!), there would be a hell of a fuss in here about it.
What I'm trying to say is...unless Eru or Allen REALLY want to stand, lets leave as is; if they DO want to stand, fine, start the poll again in a new thread. Because right now we're going nowhere with this.
Madocks, sure, every member of Hexus can vote, but be honest...are they going to?
Well Hello!
HOW ABOUT we all send an in-game letter to Thor stating who we feel should stand to be GM, nothing deep just a name either your own or someone else. Leon can then list the candidates on the forum and then we use another in-game letter to Thor and the responsibilities of tallying the votes resides with Leon who will then announce his successor.
I for one would be happy that this responsibility lies soley on Leon as I trust him and I feel you all do too.

Im whit Rhyht in this one , lets send Thor a pm with our choise , them Thor would put the result of the poll in the forum , i think thats the most democratic decision , but on the downside , we could have a lot of candidates and the unity of the guild could be afected , ( fragmenting the guild in small groups ). But that is a risk i dont mind to take.
WoW

I think a forum vote is a bad idea, the results can be viewed by mods/admins and non-guild members can vote (as mentioned above). So far, Az and Velan are running. If Eru can confirm whether he is running or not, then we should send a mail to Thor (Big_Leon) in game or PM on the forums with who we want out of those 2 or 3, set a closing time and date, and then Leon can count them up and announce the new GM. No figures, no 1st, 2nd or 3rd place, just let us know who's the GM. That will eliminate anyone except Leon knowing the results and will also be fair.
Just my 2 penneth..
My apologies for not posting sooner, I have exams on at the moment. The idea of sending me a letter in game sounds like a good one if everyone is happy with this.
We have Velan and Az standing so far, Eru and Allen can you clarify whether you are also standing?
I'll start by saying that this is becoming a little farcical. Everyone has their own ideas about what does and doesn't work. The purpose of a guild master is ultimately the person who makes the calls on usage of stuff like mooncloth/dark iron/arcanite and other rare items, whether to kick someone from the guild, or just demote them, and the policies it has. If thats not the way the guild runs and you just want "FUN", then why do we need a guild master?. Sure we can have a guild that can't force you to do anything. If we have a guild like that we don't need a GM and we are just a bunch of individuals - something i continue to hear is NOT the case, if we can force you to act like a guild in extreme circumstances, with punishments to fit the crime then we do need one.
If this is what people was as a guild master then I think people should vote for who they want as GM who they think will be fair in this role... I personally feel unless people are voting/nomiating people for this role who feel will be suitible then i don't see the point at all.
Its very much the case of what you want for the guild now. Not who you want to run it... for me its definitely i want a guild that I can ask people to save items for a purpose that benefits the whole guild, not just one or other members. Not just higher members either. But at present there is no concept of punishment. If people exploit the guild for whatever reason then i'm afraid my view is demotion in rank or expulsion from guild in repeat occurances.
If i have to stand to do this i will, but then people should be aware that no-one is immune to the rules that will be clearly stated to avoid any confusion. If people don't want this i'll get no votes and we can continue to have "fun"

I'm assuming that under the iron fist of the TiG era, some fun will be permitted. If it's just gonna be like my everyday working life, I'll call it a day now![]()
Seriously though, I can see where you're coming from and that's fine, to a certain extent I agree with you but it hardly seems fair to deride your fellow guild members for wanting something different to you. As you said, everyone has their own ideas on what does and doesn't work.
I can agree with some comments lumm, but not all..........
If a guild master told me, U MUST give all ya dark iron to azog and all ya mooncloth to Lilith........... quite frankly - id tell him where to stick the iron
I think the position of the guild master is to encourage the "All for one, and one for all" attitude rather than force it.
Like the other night, when me and lilith had a 10 min chat, where he pursueded me that my mooncloth is better put to use in poxy cloth wearing wimps hands, than to make a nice sleek 16 slot satchel

As for punishments, a few things have happened in the guild of love and have gone unpunished....... if we plan to implement a set of rules, they should be common thoughts and people have the oportunity to cast their say prior to "going live" with a set of rules.
Dont want someone becoming GM, imposing rules he set, then booting every fooka that wont follow them.
After all the chatting in this thread, i think this should become locked and a fresh one started where u only post on the new thread if u want to stand.
Right guys I think this has gotten totally out of hand now.
I agree with mads that I dont want a guild master telling me what it is I will do in game, I view the guild more as a collection of friends who "want" to help each other rather than are made to by imposing demotions/expulsions.
I think that these punishments wouldnt be needed as people would soon notice people not helping others and in tun these people would recieve little or no help back.
If im made guild master ill do my best to encourage helping others but unless extreme circumstances arise I wont be forcing anyone to do anything.
I think our guild is one of the best in terms of helping each other and co-operation, I would do my best to keep it this way.
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.
You sum up some of the points I aslo disagree with then, if we going to have a GM then you want them to encourage ppl to share. If people choose not to share, then the GM has words with them and they still don't want to share. What then?, do nothing?. It doesn't set a good example to anyone.
That for me is the crux of this whole thing, what you want a guildmaster for, to encourage but have no ability to take action?...
If thats the case we simply don't need a guild master imo. Sure hardline TiG, but thats me.
Again this is not trying to offend anyone, its just the way i feel. I'd rather say it now so that i can tell you "i told you so"

Yes if they dont want to share this is their purogative, they pay their subscription so how do I have the right to tell them how to play.
As I stated above people in our guild DO share, people who dont will quickly find this help drying up.
Some people like being in a guild for the reason of grouping witrh friends for quests, if they are not asking for anything in return then why make them give away things they have spent time working for?
I would definately ask them nicely too and provide all the reasons why it makes the game easier and fun but in the end no I wouldnt do anything to spoil the game for them if they said no.
I personally wont give or take orders in what after all is only a game..

I've no problem with people sharing, yes lots of sharing occurs, but on odd occasions that hasn't been the case. Hexus.Horde has a clear statement of terms of the guild membership. Its on the Stickies..., it does say...
"If you would rather solo along, not trade items and make all your own money then maybe a guild is not for you. Any people that do not act appropriately within the guild will be warned and after repeat occurances will be removed"
Then sorry to question you but
"I personally wont give or take orders in what after all is only a game.."
Why be GM then?, Certainly confuses me.... and the only reason i'm even questioning this thread and the purpose of the GM is so I understand where the guild is going... WHY?, well i care about the guild too.. and everyone else has had their say
