    I would be GM to carry on as we are, having fun and enjoying ourselves. I cannot remember Thor ever singleing anyone out in the manner you suggest yet funnily enough the guild has done fine so far.

    Im sorry TiG but I wont force people to play in a certain manner, aslong as they are not upsetting anyone I wont sanction publically disciplining anyone. The cases of none sharing you refer to have been very isolated and dealt with quickly with a quiet word to those involved.

    Its my opinion it doesnt need to go further than this for the forseeable future.
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    You two are both right and both wrong, in my opinion. If ANYONE gets to the stage where they are putting nothing in to the guild and getting nothing out because of that, they will stop playing the game because they will stop having any fun. Its just not going to happen. If it DOES happen, and say Mr. X is current guildmaster, and people ACTIVELY COMPLAIN about that person, then "something" will be done. The person in question being booted, most likely.

    Why be GM? Because he has a laid back attitude that, right now, is the most sensible thing in here.

    So we're voting in a poll where thousands of other Hexus peeps can vote? Well..ok not perfect, but..not the end of the world. If whoever wins turns out to be crap, we can debate it, ask them to step aside and do this all again.

    Someone hoardes their own stuff and doesn't help the guild? It'll bite them one day when they don't get what THEY need. The game is built around so many professions, instances, and so on that need more than one person that you're shooting yourself in the foot. I rolled on a pair of knuckles when I was with Slarys last night and feel guilty as hell now as he had more use of them than I...thats just the way the game is, if you're a team player you'll get a MUCH better experience out of it.

    So punishment is nice, kick them out of the guild in the most severe instance, but there's nothing else IN MY OPINION you can do. Fine them? They'll likely tell you where to go and leave themselves anyway. Just think of it like...you're getting a much better gaming experience out of the game by playing "nicely".

    So TiG you're right..if someone IS a complete arse, they WILL go. Because they won't be having much fun any more. As Velan says, it is only a game.

    I reckon we need to go back to stage 1 and say what we want out of a guild. In my mind, we have been quite happy, bumping along, questing, loot running, helping each other out - and probably me less than I could, I have no doubt. Perhaps another thread "New GM...what do you want from the Guild so we can elect the person most appropriate". Because it seems right now that bumping along is not satisfactory to everyone (me excluded, I'm quite content with having a few buddies along for instance runs and not getting yelled at too much when I cock up and die miserably).

    This is a game, its about fun. If you want to be "antisocial" in whatever way, fine. It just means the chance of anyone giving YOU the rare recipe they picked up is vastly reduced. Don't care? Ok! Keep with that attitude? Ok! Oh...nobody wants to help you out with that quest. Oh dear.

    In my own humble opinion, going down the lines of more stringent rules than we have is taking us down the wrong path.

    As usual, probably not expressing myself clearly, I just really don't see what the problem is...but then I tend to miss all the "you git you just nicked my xxx" bits. So if there have been huge probs, please spell them out. Then the guild can look at them and make its thoughts known, rather than...he said, but he said, then he said.
    Well Hello!

    I'm Guild Master nearly every night.....around 4am to 7am, as I'm the only member online at the time, so I call all the shots!

    I don't think it has. People are just getting very concerned about having a new leader and what is going to happen to the Guild. That's fair enougth in my opinion.

    We need someone with the whole guild in mind, as opposed to the top level people only.

    I'm that person.

    On the sharing issue, I would like to add something especially in light of recent events.

    Do I think somone who refuses to share valuable comodities with the guild should be thrown out?

    No.

    If somone has something which is worth money and chooses not to donate it to somone who needs it, I do feel that goes against the spirit of the guild, and I would think twice about sending that individual useful items I find in the future. But that's all. I had a problem with an individual sometime ago who was selling dropped items I sent him for nothing on the AH. That was handled with a quiet word, and I think thats the best way to handle these situations.

    At the moment I am happy with the way things are going. I have been amazed at some peoples generosity regarding some items for my Warlock quest, and I'd like to thank those people very deeply for that. I have been working on providing high level (and high value!) cloth items for guild members other than myself, again with support from some guild members, and again I think this will only work where it is optional, since the materials being donated (and used to help guild members other than myself) are very valuable.

    I do, however, think that an extra rank should be added to the guild, above the 'Veteran' rank, to indicate people who have gone 'above and beyond' in their contribution to the guild. Something for a future discussion I think.
