If needed we can have Wow forums, hexus forums, and officer forums...........

If you must have a private forum then you change permissions so that only officers can view everything, and limit what others can see. Simple, plus it works.

Please remember in all of this that HEXUS runs and pays for these forums and the administration of them so whilst you can express a desire to have a private forum and whilst we don't want to drive people away to set up their own forums the ultimate decision comes down to HEXUS management. So don't believe for a minute that just because a majority agrees on this that HEXUS will action it. Some people seem to have forgotten that they get this forum for free.

I think it's pretty obvious that the results from the guild are:
1/ The guild as a whole (inc some officers) want a private forum.
2/ Some officers have shown they wanted one for them only.
3/ A few people aren't keen to try new ideas.

Yes, this is simple to understand, but please understand yourself that the natural course of action for the guild to develop is to have its own private space, and if it is not available here, then maybe the guild needs to move elsewhere (which I'm sure no-one wants).

Eventhough it is a decision of the Hexus management, it has got to bear in mind the factor mentioned above. And yes, I'm sorry for being blunt, but if a majority of people on Hexus forums wanted something enough for them to leave for it, then I'm sure Hexus will implement it (if 99% of members wanted so-and-so, and didn't get it and leave, I'm sure the sponsors of Hexus wouldn't be too pleased).

What your also missing is that its Hexus.WOW forum not Hexus.Horde forum. David has set aside a small part of Hexus to WOW in general, for this most people are extremely happy with. With your comment you are trying to hold Hexus to ransom. Do you really think that that is the way forward? because i don't.

Surely the Hexus.Horde are a group of players that all use the hexus forums..........

But at the same time, I rarely read anything else on the hexus forums, unless the servers are down like last night . We bring traffic to the forums and help keep them active. Surely if we have 40 members all checking the forums it would be in hexus's interest to keep us happy

There is a hexus.wow forums and by all means use it........ but have a tiny section for hexus.horde private matters........

Failing that, if its too much hassle, I can organise some seperate forums with restricted access for voting etc........

First off the guild was formed as hexus horde as thats where everyone who joined the guild initially came from. It was a question raised to David to allow us to use the Hexus name as its obviously the Hexus Ltd companies property.

We've been lucky enough to get a sub forum unlike the guild wars group and the blatent disrepect and gratitude for the use of this astonishes me. I think if you want a private forum you should likely go elsewhere as the time and organisation to look after a private forum would drain resources from other things the hexus admins would be doing.

And with that maybe make Hexus.WoW forum the hexus.mmorpg forum as you obviously don't care about this forum that much.

My point exactly - if we had a private section we would have outsiders flaming any idea we discuss that involves the guild only.

For the life of me I cannot think of much we would not want others to see. You may think that keeping the little bit of disagreement locked up out of sight from others woulfd be helpful, but we want people in the guild for their honesty and openness and trust.

I don't think a private forum would do much to advance this. And as highlighted by Tig we seem to have been well looked after by Hexus, and I don't want them to dislike us given the time and effort they are also putting into this.

My two penneth, but I err toward Tig on the argument about the forum, and staying as an open forum as we don't want to be a secret society (do we?)
