    Private forum

    Gents / lasses

    Heres an idea.......... at present ay grief that goes on in the game MUST stay out of the forums. Yet any major changes to the guild, like the GM stepping down is in the public eye.

    Seeing as we have only have approx 40 accounts, this wouldn't take long to set up. Threads like........

    Guild Leader stepping down

    Teamspeak server info

    Guild Promotions / demotions

    ETC....

    Sure keep the main forums, but create some private ones for stuff to remain out of the public eye.

    I'm not in your guild so shout at me if you want but I don't think any of the 'public' give a monkey's about 'private' goings on like promotions and wotnot, tad ott and just more for mods to admin imo, unless you've got secret plans to hide from spying eyes

    I'd honestly wonder if you moved to private forums if you would get enough traffic on here to justify the separate forum.

    roxor - y should u be able to find out our guild leader was stepping down before me?

    Because u check the public forums..........

    Also would be a lot easier to have discussions and have a vote - for what the guild wants - only members could vote - 1 vote each, easy.

    I agree with both rox0r and TiG, what do we have to hide? I see no point in a private forum, all it will do is fragment the guild.

    I will consider setting up a private sub forum in here for the guild leaders which has restricted access. However I am very busy with work atm so you may have to wait a few weeks

    A separate forum just for the guild officers would also be very useful.. it's very hard for us to discuss some issues in game chat!

    I think we need a private forum and have said so when i was running for GM.
    I have been personally told not to post a problem on the forums due to ex/non members being able to seen the post. I even had a post mysteriously disappear and reappear once. There have been lots of guild problems swept under the carpet because people don’t want these shown in these forums and people have left the guild over them. We are a big guild so some problems are inevitable. I truly hate wasting 'game time' discussing these things! inside the game we should be playing and sorting via the forums.
    If people are worried about traffic in the public section I say that we will not know till we try! I am also fully confident that Velan will make it clear that the private forums will only be used for a set criteria. Private forums will also boost the feeling of individual importance within the guild – this can only be a good thing. If I got a problem with something/someone I may want to air it – I currently do not have this option. This only creates a bigger problem. This can be easily solved.
    All my old clans had this option and it has saved a lot of grief over countless things. I ask those who have doubts to give this a try. How can we know till we try?

    Out of all replies, guild members views are.................

    Wants - ERU, Mads, Slayer, Teepee

    Dont want - Pug

    Come on the rest of you, show ya views...... I'd set a poll, but non hexus could vote - hence private forums

    I think it would certainly have its uses, Hopefully will talk to Iain about this soon
    Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
    Enwrought with golden and silver light,
    The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
    Of night and light and the half-light,
    I would spread the cloths under your feet:
    But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
    I have spread my dreams under your feet;
    Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.

    Although I'm not a guild member or ever will be as i'm on a different server to all you guys, I would not like to see the formation of a private forum. This is for a number of reasons: myself and I believe quite a few non-guild members like to hear what's going on with the guild; the quests, instances, how peoples characters are developing - this gives us newbies ideas as to how to shape our characters and give us also a sense of belonging to the community. This i feel would be lost with the formation of the private forum. It may start out only for private votes and private guild buisness but i can see this to be the main location of posts for the guild members later on as why would you guys post/read from 2 forums? I was under the impression that THIS forum was setup for the discussion of WoW as to separate it from the normal gaming forum (similar to the cs forum). I think this forum would lose a very active percentage of visitors if the private forum is created which is a shame as there are very few quality forums based in the UK which have this sort of passionate users of a game that we are all addicted to. So a vote to the NON corner.

    No, im not saying that smelly - general guild chat in public, where u can play a part.......

    But guild leader votes, If someone has something to get off their chest...... someone leaving the guild etc are all private matters

    Madocks I actually unserstand what you're saying but I think it will soon enough become the main place to discuss stuff (non-private guild stuff) and as such there will be fewer posts on the main forum. Obviously there are complelling reasons for the private area (would e-mail not work?). I suppose you can try it out and see what happens. Of course if it progresses down the route of only private posts then me and the rest will be elsewhere and there won't be much of a public place for WoW questions etc apart from the general gaming area which is what I thought this place was created for. Still Non, but this isn't my forum and I'm only a visitor and I'm not a guild member.
