IL2FB .. there is a beta patch out that some hosts are using.. I've not installed this yet... I wait for things to come out of beta nowadays :D
So.. the main pc is connected to the net how? You sharing connection via ICS or something?
its connected with cat5 crossover, nic to nic.

What's your internaet connection? BB or cable or 56k?
Tried connecting to the net thru Zak's pc the other day and couldn't do it. Something to do with NTL cable being a netwrok already or sumthin.

Can you play other games on the internet? (i see you say HL isn't working but can you play anything).
Sounds like a config issue to me, how are you sharing the internet connection?. Maybe you can get out to the internet but the other PC isn't setup to return the information to you?.
Give us some more information about the i-net setup. What isp you use, whether you got anything like xp firewall working or anything.
I'm assuming you can browse the internet on your browser. Which means there is something up.

ok, from the top.
ALL of my games work online. HyperLobby WORKS! but FB doesnt at all. i have no firewall up when trying to connect, im routed direct to otehr pc (no router) and im on BY 1mb.
I've just tried to log on and had the same problem. I get to hyperlobby etc connect and then it times out

What servers are you trying?. When you get back to hyperlobby do you try again the same server again. I've had it timeout but i'm on a 56k modem and i expect that, when i retry its fine.

I think it's 'cos i'm using smoothwall. I'm going to try connecting straight to my main PC, If that works I need to look at the port forwarding
Update: It works if I connect my USb modem direct to my main PC. so it's a firewall/smoothwall issue, will work on it now.....
