Guild Wars: First impressions
I loaded GW last night for the first time and eagerly waited as the updates installed and without reading the manual, created a warrior called Sir Duncan The Tall. I then began the quests for the warrior, finding Gwen's flute and luring bee's away from villages etc. It did feel strange compared to wow that’s for sure. I enjoyed the realism to the graphics and the immediate looting of various weapons and shields made the introduction to the game more fun and personal. The look to the armor and weapons is great, the glinting steel of a long sword looks sharp enough to slice through my tft. There are a few habits I’m finding hard to break such as left clicking npc to attack instead of right, trying to move the camera view and having to hold down the right mouse button to do so and when running at the same time doing this without changing my characters direction! ( I like to look behind and to the sides of myself as I’m fleeing death) Minor I know and still early days though heh. Now I only played through to lvl 2 as I had made prior engagements but so far me likey. I didn’t seem to get a choice of servers if that’s how things work in GW, but then again I haven’t read the books yet so I could have missed this altogether without knowing. How can I hook up with some guildies in game to start some serious leveling?
