    Exclamation [MA]Server now scripted

Think I've managed to get the scripting working on the Open Dedicated [MA]Server in Hyperlobby

Currently got 2 maps in rotation, which should switch as soon as one of the following conditions are met

    1. 60 minutes has expired
    2. 50 enemy planes are destroyed (including static planes)
    3. 70 enemy pilots are either killed or captured

    Notes
    • There is a 50% chance that a pilot downed behind enemy lines will escape capture
    • Autokick is enabled to limit the number of warpers
    • Atokick is enabled for pings >300 (Two warnings are given)
    • This probably wont work.. in which case, you'll all have to wait until next week before I can attempt to sort it

As this is my first attempt... I would appreciate you posting your findings and comments here.. e.g game play, how the server runs, players comments, abuse.. and.. well anything you can think of really

    S!

    Nice one Hat

    How about a Vulcher- autokick

I've not been one to complain about Vulching too often, but there was a guy on the other night who wouldn't let me re-spawn, just kept gunning me down before I could even start my engine

I guess that'd be do-able seeing as the game knows when someone has vulched.. if so, perhaps a two vulch limit.. ie warn on the first one and kick on the second?

btw, Hat, the comments I've seen on my visits to the server, all of them love it... not often seen ANY comments about how good a server is etc, but there were a couple in the 15 minutes I got on very late last night, hows that for a pat on the back, eh?

The auto-kick vulcher idea sounds good, got wasted a couple of times on the runway by them the other day.

Lets just hope it all works

problem is tho.......i think a few nicely placed bombs and rockets would also be classed as vulching by the game..

Ill look into it further, yet maybe at this stage use the other bases (all my maps are gonna contain more than one base) and take a note of the players name (for later banning maybe), or get your teammates to provide a decent cap.

There is an option to set up "superusers" which have the ability to kick, ban, change map etc etc.....basically admin the server. Still learning bout all that though.

Any way to make it lighter? Or is each map set to a particular time of day?

each map is set to start at a certain time of day... and play for an hr max atm

The water one shovld be starting at 13:00 clear weather
The snowy one shovld be starting at 16:30 hazy weather (think ill change it to 16:00)

Ill ge a few maps on there, say with a 30 min time limit.. with all difft weather conds and times...

...covld even set vp a few where its the same map.. jvst different times of day.... say a night time for one of them

Sounds good, if you do can you set flare paths for the runways? Not a chance of getting down without 'em!

if its a night map, ill pvt a covple of bonfires here and there as markers. For Dvsk and dawn... ill leave them as is.

The water map has loads of searchlights here and there, which only start showing after a certain time ( cant remember what exactly). THovght thatd look awesome for bomber command

OK... there are now 4 maps in rotation (basically the two same ones, yet at different times of day) Still with a 60 minvte timelimit

    Feedback still appreceiated

Well, the server seems to be working okay

I like the idea of different planes at different bases too

well... it gets better. The mission ovtcome can decide which map is loaded next.

3 possible ovtcomes for each map : red win , blve win, none win.... yov work ovt the maths,, bvt that's a rubbishrubbishrubbishrubbishe load of possiblilties and a "semi dynamic" campaign covld be set vp...

e.g If red win.. it covld load the another map, which is basically yhe same with the front line forward a bit etc.

Wovld involve a seriovs bit of map makling... bvt maybe worth it
