Thanks to Zak txting me i managed to catch it, and all i can say is omg, it was the best look at bombing tactics, i didn't realise how crap bombing accuracy was early on through the war, But how terrible were some of the bombings late 43/ early 44 on german cities, 73 Tones of HE and IN rounds dropped on a town, killing 44000 civilians overnight.
The comments of Speer saying to Hitlers command staff if they do this to 6 towns a week - industrial output will be completely decimated.
The way they improved was the best tho, Enhance Mosquitos used as path finders then highlighting the targets with flares, light up the nightsky and guided the bombers home. The funny thing is the war ministry told the people pathfinding that they couldn't use the mosquitos as they would be far to obvious at night with the fire coming out the engines.
They told this to a WC who had been up pathfinding the previous 6 nights of the week in said plane.....
The british refined the technique using latest scientific methods with onboard radar and proved this when they bombed Hamburg back to the stone age, and again improved this for "targeted" raids on french soil where civilian casulties were not acceptable.
A great program, well worth the watch.
