    RF Online - mmorpg

Seen a lot about this. Supposed to be more anticipated than the Middle Earth one (if you read their articles).

Hear it is close to final Beta testing. Due for final release in February 06 (or maybe not according to some posts).

If you pre-order you are supposed to get access code to Beta testing. Has anyone done this? Was this restricted to those that ordered before 5 Jan 06?

Is anyone interested in trying RF-online, or sticking with WoW?

I spotted a small bit about that in the latest Neo mag, they have a competition up to win some beta passes, but unfortunately it's a "phone this 0906 number at 50p a min to enter" jobbie

Only reason I know about it is because my brother got into the US D&D Online beta, then he went and signed up for the UK one with Codemasters, who are also doing RF Online.

I'm guessing the 'highly anticipated' was only in Japan.

I have to admit I do like the look of this one but wont be getting it as it has a monthly sub to play, same goes for Dark Age of Camelot, monthly sub to play so I refuse to get it.

Why oh why cant some of these developers remove the subs to get more players like Arenanet / NCSoft with Guild Wars. They could possibly stop doing automatic updates etc for non sub players so you have to download and patch the game up manually, possibly also hold new content back for a few weeks before non sub players could get it, theres ways and means but they still want the subs.

Mind you, City of Heroes / Villians has a monthly sub and they are Arenanet / NCSoft, hopefully 2006 will see the removal of monthly subs on some of the bigger MMORPG games RF Online especially !

Sometimes the game is good enough though that you definately get your moneys worth for the sub, thats how I see it. I know for WoW I'm raping the monthly fee

I thought the 'anticipated' bit related to the Far East, thnx for the confirm.

And as for a 50p per min phone call - no way ! These must be the competition winner entrants I read about.

I'll wait and see whats out around @ May/June and how they stack up. Cost will definately come in to the equation. The cheaper the better, so far Guild Wars is winning my vote for that.

(And WoW- great game, just dominated my life too much, the £9/month seemed to be value while I played).

I have all the experience points for each level of WoW, not seen these anywhere to date. Anyone interested ? Should I post them? Half way point is just passed level 47 in case you wondered (2.05 million of the 4.1 million you need).

Hope you are enjoying what you are playing
