    Found this image

.. straight from a RAF 1943 gunnery instrucion manual.

....So fiddled around with it. enlarged it, de artifacted it, changed the colour, the lunminance, transparent layered it, erased all the dodgy pixels etc. etc. set it as a background and it has inspired me to write what I know about gunnery.

How many times have thought that youve got the guy.. then on pressing the trigger you fail to understand why none of your bullets are actually hitting him?! HOw many times have you been involved in a tail chase with a team mate in front of you.. watching his bullets fall behind the enemy

Deflection shooting.. thats the key! Learn the theory, put the theory into practice.. feel the force.

Nothing here at the moment... part from the background.. Ill write what I know or have read v soon..

This is the problem i have tho, i'm happy with deflection shooting I can do it all day long, but the problem I have is getting my plane in a position to actually make the shot.

I always think of deflection shooting as shooting the enemy where he will be in X seconds. (X depends on speed turn rate etc)

I found a good way of learning this in practise on something i could kill tho, and thats bombers, although it takes a lot longer to attack them from the front (getting into position etc), i found the rewards with the increased pilot kills definitely paid off, slightly low and to the side pulling up and to the side raking the cockpit using deflection shooting helped my understanding of speed a lot.
