Well I like the fact that i can play with the people I know and enjoy playing with instead of having to solo everything on a new server. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about gold with my alts. I like that i can bring my lvl 60 paladin and chase around 2 lvl 40s in darkshore after they've been roofcamping my lvl 22 alts village. I like that the herbs my alt gathers go to another alt who in turn supplies him with potions. And I like that I can pass the boe items to lower level alts who will enjoy using them.

The reasons I can move along to another server is that I have a good friend which we do everything together with games wise if i move server my friend comes along and same the other way around ^ ^ makes the game a whole lot better as you are never solo

friend has an alt to match a fair few of mine

    Scum - 60 rogue - Battlepope - 60 priest
    Elmo - 37 hunter - Meek - 35 (iirc) warrior
    Discord - 37 warrior - battlepope - 35 priest
    Tadaa - 30 druid - twoflower - 30 mage (NASTY combo... )
    Scheme - 26 warlock - cant remember name - 20 locky

the rogue/priest combo is one of the most painful of the lot priest being shadow makes things very fun

at the moment playin my warrior and friend on priest this seems to be very nice for grinding/questing and also at level 25 and priest at 23/24 we managed to get right to the end of BFD as a duo ^ ^ took a few hours but fun and nice drops hehe

I find that even with friends its often difficult to make sure you are playing at the same time and noone goes ahead too far. I have started playing with some friends on the server, but we ended up in different places in the end.

Missing out on playing gimped characters with crap equipment. Somehow I'm not hugely bothered. I have a couple of low level alts, but I rarely play them, just not any fun.

I dont find armour/weapons make a difference in how the class is played. ofc with someone like a warrior its nice to have a AMAZING weapon but even with a green weapon it doesnt make the class itself not fun. what does armour have anything to do with skill of playing the class itself?

I dont see where you are coming from, then again everyone has their opinions and views upon certain things ^ ^

Just to add from posts you done previously, you play a different game then myself (still within WoW ofc) where as you have the amount of people and classes do go though higher level instances, I do not and more to the point with myself, i HATE the end game instances, they are way to long/boring imo i cannot even get though strat/scholo/urbs without scratchin my eyes out.

I love pvp, thats all there is to it my 60 rogue is purely pvp only, I have not been in ANY instances since before christmas when i helped out with half a strat run for a friend and that sucked bad, I know strat and them are not very long instances but they really just dont interest me at all

I agree with the other posters - it's an awesome game. I started playing when it launched (on the US servers) then moved to the EU servers when they opened - played for about 12 months or so, but eventually had to quit as I didn't have time to keep playing. Really for the amount of money I spent compared to the hours I played, it was very good value for money

MC is mostly alts in out guild, and I think I would play an alt if I were given a lvl 60 char, but I really can't be bothered to lvl one up.

Having alts is a good idea, but the way its done in wow...no, it's a bad idea.

Ideally you only want one char per server per account max. Why? well firstly (and most importantly), servers fill up based on the number of characters on that server correct? So if you have more than one character on a server, you are taking up a slot that someone else could have had, a friend for example. This happened to me, a friend wanted to start playing and tried to create a char on my server (doomhammer), but was not allowed as it was full. I'm sure that there are plenty of alts on doomhammer, but if there weren't then there is more chance of being a slot...Also multiple alts on one server can lead to servers appearing empty, even though they are 'full'. as you can only play one char at a time..

the whole being able to trade between your alts is annoying too. Granted some people (most maybe) don't do this, but lots of people do. So tehy will play though till l60 where gold can be plentiful, andt hen give their alt loads of gold so they can buy stuff on the AH and get kitted out with the best equipment for low levels. Aside from this being (in my opinion) close to cheating in a simialr way to buying gold from fleabay, it also takes some of the fun out of the game..meaning you just have to grind away with your alts as opposed to working/trading etc.

Obviously we pay to play this and as such should be allowed to play how we each prefer, but in my personal opinoin it's just stupid.

Much better is the planetside way of doing things, where you are limited to how many chars you could have per faction/server. Thing's didn't get this messy then Which reminds me, I should really install that again, not played it in over a year... only got BR13/CR1 too;/ lots of work to do there methinks.

First of all NC suck. Noobhammer jockeys the lot of em

Back to alts. I have put a lot of effort lvling to 60, why can't i enjoy the spoils with my alts? Its my time thats paying for it, whether it was spent on a 60 char or on a 30 char doesn't matter. Its not gold bought of ebay. We are not competing here, its not a race. Some people take a month to lvl to 60, some take 4 months. If you are bothered by people being higher lvl - start a char on a new server.

Server slots - i don't know about your server but we have had two transferss from ours and we still get queues up to 400 long. I don't see any problem with having not enough people. And I am sure everyone has lots of alts (i have 6 chars on my server). I would also think that server pop is counted by accounts, not chars. Blizzard aren't stupid you know

If you want your friend to play - start playing together on a lower pop server. If you aren't together when you start and cannot make alts (as you suggest) then your lvl 60 Barbarian will have very interest in playing with his lvl 12 Monk (especially now xp has been nerfed when higher lvls help). So basically its "hi fred, glad you joined my server, see you when you are lvl 60".

Alts ftw. I really like the fact i can be a lvl 25 rogue and have a lvl 60 rogue heal me with his lvl 25 priest - the tables have turned

P.S. and you could have alts on the same server in planetside - and number of alts is limited on a server by the fact you have 8 classes and why you'd have more than 1 of each class is beyond me

No, the fullness of a server is calculated by accounts, not characters. Someone with 10 alts and someone with none count for the same amount when assessing population.
This is why when servers are full people who already have a character can create alts, but people without a character cannot.

    Haha, alt = 'Alternate Character'

You can create up to 8 charaters on each server, so once you have 1 level 60 you can start on another, or you can level lots of characters at the same time.

Heh, apparently the games meant to get boring after lvl 40, am lvl 33 and a lvl 12 alt (Had to try out alliance ), still play 'frequently' but can find it uber tedious at times. Particularly on a PvP server where you get pwned every time you walk into a contested territory giving me the urge to want to throw my keyboard through my TFT.
