    goes to show two things....A the Vid card is more important than the processor...B: Your work PC must have a lot of crap running on it.

    I have just set up an XP1600+ (unclocked my chip) and put a Rad9000 non pro in.....

    just like the Geforce numbers now.....I mean....a 5200 (non ultra) will get MASHED by a 4200Ti

    Zak33: I just upgraded from a GF3 to a 9800SE (see sig) and although it doesn't softmod it's a huge jump in performance... especially with FSAA and AA. Basically you can up the res one notch and turn on 4xFSAA/8XAA and still have it as smooth as before... so perfect for flight sims like IL-2. Think your best bet is a 9500pro/9600pro as the directx9 support will carry you through the next batch of games.

    What 3d mark should i be using? used to get 10k on 2001, xp2000, GF4 4400Ti and 512mb od pc2700 DDR. Next upgrade gotta be a gig of decent ddr me thinks

    for IL2 FB neither of those are much cop, as we all tend to use Open GL....BUT.....3dMark 2001 SE is nearest.

    19" Iiyama Visionmaster pro 454
    Radeon 9700 running at 350/300
    Saitek X45 Joystick setup.

    That's pretty good. (Similar score to 9600Pro/GF4 4600) Would expect higher from a 9700 upwards.

    I assume that is with out AA and AS?
