WoW - I wanna have a quick go!

I'm based in the UK and therefore was unable to try out the 2 weeks free WoW trial they did for US based people a while ago.

I'm fairly seriously in to EQ and prob not going to switch to WoW, but I would like to give it a try for a couple of weeks just to make sure

Any ideas if they will be offering a trial to non-US people at any time????

Maybe for you yeah, but many people are actually enjoying it, hence it being one of the most popular MMORPG's thats available.

There are some UK discs with a 10 day "trial" CD-Key but unfortunately I've gave mine to a friend 3 weeks ago.

I have seen my nephew playing it and it is so Boringly repetitive! He is so addicted to it. Each to thier own and if he loves it good luck to him, just that for me i think it is a waste of time and takes over people's lives. Give me a FPS game anyday of the week! lol

some people think it's boring due to "grinding" to get money and XP to level. This is a problem with most MMORPG's really but WoW isn't as bad as the others in retrospect.

The best thing about WoW I found was the community.

We had so many laugh's raiding villages like lakeshire when we knew the odds would be against us. Imagine 20 low level characters all racing and hiding and awaiting higher level characters to appear on the flightpaths. Once we hit them a few times and got HK points thats when the backup appeared and we ran round like a cartoon style Benny Hill show trying to escape.

PvP is fun - hell I used to go on at 3 am on a Saturday morning, usually in a drunken state and spend most the time ganking near camps and villages awaiting "bubble boys (paladins) to run past so I could torment them.

I do enjoy a quick UT2004 bash (especially after a hard day at work!) but I really *really* enjoying ploughing several hours of my life in to Everquest ... so I suspect I may like different games to you!

    Thanks for the comment though!

If you can get hold of the discs off a friend I think I have a 10 day trial key you can have.

I don't think I'd have the time or patience for WoW - but I really used to enjoy the single player versions... I really must dig them out sometime

Dude, play the game before you judge it. Sit down and play it for maybe 1 or 2 hours, you may still have the same thoughts about the game but play it for a few days and you will be hooked.

Ive been playing for over a year now every minute I play I have something different to do be it grinding questing killing other players being killed by other players and so on.

Never judge a book by its cover, you have heard that before right?

I've just rung the only person I know playing WoW (everybody I know is playing EQ! ) and she can't find anything in the box etc. to do with a trial key.

Any idea whether it was a limited offer or something that she might not have?

Each to their own. Perhaps it would be better to concede that the original statement 'WoW is so boring' would have been better worded 'Personally, I found WoW to be boring' ?

As stated in above post, each to their own just to add and again repeat my first post in here.

to get in to the game you have to firstly be WILLING to like it and second have to play it for more than a few hours

when i started playing I was heavily in to EQ2 and only played it 1 or 2 hours and kept gettin bored but once i got a couple of mates to party up with i was on it for 5 hours one night and never went back to EQ2

but again, each to their own
