Anyone still play Planetside?

AAh! I forgot I posted this thread.

Well - I played planetside from the beginning, but after a year or so I did get bored (and I was playing it too much, addicted?). Now, 2 years on I resubscribed for a month just to see what was what and luckily i got an immediate invite into my old Outfit.

I have to admit - its a game where your outfit (clan) makes the game so good. On your own just running around, the game would be rubbish IMO. Its the teamplay that raises the game far up a level above other FPS games. Nothing like a highly organised group of 30 of you capturing a very important building or object. It just doesnt get any better.

So now, i am back on Werner, back in Renegade Legion, back killing the TR and VS and really enjoying the game again.

They've raised the BR limit to 25, i am now already nearly on 21.

21, 22, 23 give you extra certs, 24 and 25 give you special armour.

There is also quite a few new bits in the game, for example core combat is now included for free in the game so you can go underground (i didn't buy it originally) and there are new ground and air units to try.

As ever with planetside, i need a better GFX card. Its a bit of a beast of a game, and unless you got 2 gig of ram and a spangly GFX card, you will find you enjoy it less than you should.

Bah that pisses me off no end, I shelled out the 15quid for Core Combat when it was released as an addon - and almost no-one had it then..The new areas were pretty cool (flying around on those links between rooms) and some of the new weapons were worth it..but the problem was the underground bits were so empty

Annoying as that now everyone gets it for free when i paid out for it ;/

Yeh thats why I didnt buy it its the type of game that has to have new content added, for free. Its inevitable

I subed ages ago and bought core combat but the game started to get poor and the lag issues were crap at that time, may go back to it as I have a mate who still plays
