you'll be happy to hear that you can get a 30 day trial (or something similar) if you have a friend who owns Dod:Source, nice of steam, ey?

I very much like the game but i find little free time playing it between c&c generals and BF2 (oh and working hard as a student of course)

    It's a free 3 day trial

If anyone wants one, I have most of the games and would happily give a free trial to anyone intersted.

I played DOD-S on an old 9800 grpahics card for a couple of years, you can pick them up for under £50. If you have upgraded you graphics drivers I can send you one of the free trial passes, think its 3 days.

not a bad game. although the whole ww2 thing bores me to death now. plus when i played it it was too confusing there was to much detail and stuff about that took your eye off the enemy.

mind you thats coming from cs:s

yep, its definately 3-day. It's very useful if you go to lan party's, you can get other people playing too.

I'd like to see more of the free trial passes, i.e. for more games or and more than just one per game.

I also prefer Red Orchestra - it just feels more rewarding because its a little trickier. Some nice maps too - a lot more scale and variety I think - with large open and forest maps plus vehicles (although not a fan of pure tank maps). Dod is alright too.

DoD is sweet, played a bit of old DoD but I play it more regularly now Source is out. Being in a clan means I put a lot of time in.

Problem is I cant go back to Goldsrc (HL1) engine games it just looks so fugly compared to Source although I put up with it when im playing Natural Selection

Well I went to the developers website of NS once, and they said that they plan to make an NS: Source game, but lack a bit of funds atm. So next year might be a good bet on that, if at all =P

Did enjoy NS though very unique idea, an FPS with RTS section within the gameplay.

Closest thing to NS at the moment is BF2, in that the cammander does not rellally fight, he controls the battle. Not really a big fan of the standard BF2, but love project reality. When you get a good commander, and people use comms its magic.

Which is why (when I start playing again), want to join a clan and play with people I know will be at least fairly organised.

Most of the time in BF2 (or any of the add-ons), I just go solo with sniper and camp, or go spec ops and play covert ops

I do have a few friends that play, but to play BF2 properly I just don't have the time, tbh. =/

I have been quiet impressed with eh team play in PR, reminds me of the old OWP servers in DoD. Had a really good game the other day with a fully co-ordinated helicopter attack from a carrier. Each squad had a dedicated pilot, and helicopter. Commander assigned targets to each sqaud and snipers were dropped forward so they could harass the enemy. Was excellent.
