    Any upcoming modern flight sims?

    Afternoon gentlemen,

I have been looking around for a while and got nowhere, I have been to many flight sim pages and have been throughly confused so I thought you clever people may be able to help.

Is there any modern flight sims coming out soon? I know there is Falcon 4.0 but it seems a bit limited for what I want and waaaay too technical, I was looking for more of a 'here is a choice of planes here are the controls go fly a mission'.

Years ago there was EF2000 which I liked but nowadays only seem to find limited ditributiion stuff.

Any help most appreciated. By the way like the forum guys, will be around alot more from now on.

You may want to check out the Strike Fighters/Wings over Vietnam/ Wings over Europe series. http://www.thirdwire.com/
Unfortunately WoE isn't yet distributed in Europe but is available from the US.

Bah get IL2 and have some propeller goodness It's all you need, not all that technical and you can just pick up and fly. Takes AAAAAGES to get good in it tho

Or you could be loyal to the jets and get LOMAC... but I don't reckon that's much cop.

since then DID released "F22 Air Dominance Fighter" followed by "F22: Total Air War". they're still quite old, and it does show (graphically) but they're the best fighter simulators i've ever played. might be slighty difficult to get hold of because of their age but they're a good step up from EF2000 and they run in XP, which is always a bonus

Does anyone know whether JANES still make flight simulators I used to have JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) in the past and I thought that was really good.

Janes's never made flightsims but licenced their trademark (to EA then when they dropped it to Looking Glass).
    & I don't remember either doing JSF - wasn't that Eidos?

You didn't say anyhting about it having to be a combat flight sim, so Flight Simulator 2006 should be out at the end of the year. I can't wait. Which is silly really because I wont be able to run it on decent graohics settings anyway

Check the fs insider site for some previews and info :

FSx does appear to be the next generation of flight-sims.

if combat is not what you are after then this should fit the bill.
