    Question Shadowbane - for free?

    Hi

I tried downloading the installer for the free version of Shadowbane last night. However, when I tried to extract the zip file, I got a CRC checksum error.

    Two things:
    1) Is this free version applicable to the UK anyway?
    2) Where can I get a working version if the official (FilePlanet) download fails?

    Many thanks.

Never heard of Shadowbane , but you might wanna try downloading again. Sounds like the file is corrupted, or the download was cut off before the file finished transfering.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

AFAIK the free version works anywhere. That said the game is junk.

Darn, what's wrong with it? (I don't want to bother with another 900Mb download for junk!)

Any feedback on this game welcome - also, are there any good, free MMOGs??

Basically servers are dominated by a single guild typically. Anyone not in it will have a very difficult time getting anywhere in the game as they control everything. Expect to die a lot.
If you build up a town or what have you expect for it to be destroyed (and you can't get it back) in short order. So if you can cope with being a punchbag it might be right up your alley, if not however I'd skip it.
On top of that it looks like a dog's dinner, the graphics are shockingly poor.
Oh and it's full of bugs.

Good and free are generally mutually exclusive with MMOs sadly.

its not junk! its just old, used to be good once you realised you could click on the map. You need to use winzip or winrar to extract that zip file - think its too big or something for windows built in zipper to handle, or something.

however, there are better ones to try - i'd recommend a hunter if you do go for shadowbane though - track will save your life a lot.
