Two or three of us have these beasts. Get a good price for one (about £60 in the UK) and well worth it. Although...they take alot of setting up and you will have more than enough to worry about so a standard one as Hat recommends would do well. Opinion is divided on FF. Some thing it interferes with fine control, whereas others will say it gives them advance warning of a stall.Quote:

Another X45 owner here, it is a great stick and all those buttons give the ability to map all the usefull stuff to the stick. I now need to sort out my multi-engine and bombing controls. Just wondered what other people have mapped to the two dial thingys?? I use prop pitch and elevator trim.

The rotary dials on mine are rudder and elevator trim.
I never use prop pitch. Clearly missing out on something here. Anyone post some guidelines?
If any one wants my X45 config please shout. I found it useful to get others and then amend. I am using all 6 modes and foot pedals.

.....me too, the Wingman Force 3D (hat switch, thottle, trigger and six programable buttons). I can't be without force feedback. It's nice to have a rumble and a shudder when you push the plane a bit too far, and that's useful when you're still learning. The recoil can be little distracting though, and push off your aim - but that all adds to the realism.
I can't figure out how to get the trim to br progressive on the dial.. ie, the more I turn the dial, the more trim I get.. The best I could do is to get it to be a light turn to trim up or down then have to turn the dial back to neutral to stop trimming up or down... any ideas where I've gone wrong, Cling?Quote:

On another note, I have multi engined controls mapped to Mode 3. I don't use shifted modes as the pinkie does my voice comms for me.
Also, I'm trying to get used to the mouse hat on the throttle, but the view moves quite jekily this way... anyone else got any tips on tuning this out?
1) I'll check when I get in tonight, but I think you have to map the rotary control to your "hotas" section in FB controls setup. It is very sensitive and as there is a delay in taking affect the results can seem like its like you explain. I tend to move mine a small amount and leave it where it trims.
2) Are you sure the hat you are using for view is in "mouse mode" in all modes?. You can adjust sensitivity. Mine is as smooth as a babies bottom, but I use hat 1 for that.
We'll have to hurry up and sort a LAN in the new year to swap tips.
If we have another Lan im banning cameras of any type, Id love to get a solid few hours in on an x45 see how I got on

Bought Microsoft SideWinder Pro2 off m8 4 a £10 (nods at Danneh) bargin, after i took the arse off it and tightened it up so it was a bit stiffer it was all go, still a 56k peon at it, but hey meh likes it :)
