    WoW patches

is it something wrong with my PC? every single WoW patch i download takes 5-6 hours because im "behind a firewall" even though i've disabled it countless times for the patch downloads.

any ideas on how to sort this out?

Go to http://download.utorrent.com/1.6/utorrent.exe install the torent client.

Go to whaterver:\World Of Warcraft\Cache directory theres a file there - BackgroundDownload.torent file . Execute the file and tell windows to open it with the freshly installed torent client (uTorent).

Go get something to drink, clean the room a bit, and u have the file when u come back.

Copy the Directory uTorent creates in its Download directory (WoW-2.0.0-to-2.0.3-enGB-Win-patch) into your Wow directory and execute BackgroundDownloader.exe .

Thats pretty much it. Hella lot faster the Blizz downloader.

Bear in mind this only works for the last patch and the next ones - previous to that you had to use a tool to extract the torrent from the downloader .exe which you could then plug into your torrent client, so if you are doing a clean install of the game you'll want to be grabbing 1.12 from an http mirror as mentioned above.
