You certainly started to understand the idea of Boom n Zoom on the low slow guys.

The time I was watching you over and over, typing "YoYo now" and "climb now" was superb. You lined up from on high, droped like a stone, strafed and climbed again, and were out of danger, and ready for another pass. That's the way. But a High Yoyo is the best thing you could learn from last night.

In stead of dropping fast, and then having to turn really tight, hence losing you E.....you should climb and then as you're high and slow, you can gently pull a turn and it's very tight because you're so slow (don't yank....it'll stall)...then you must trust in the height you have...that it will turn back into great speed and you'll catch your man again.

I got you to take an IL-2 because it slows you down, makes you plan more, and the canons do well...

but I have a sneaky suspicion you fell in love with a Hurricane last night....is that right? That's what you nailed me with :) And Rias, and Danglybob!

I think you did bloody well. Next time I think we should use different bases, (still no flack) and then you'll have to land to get your points....and Land on the runway!

tbh i did rather like the hurricane, though its lack of cannons did get a bit annoying.

though in the IL-2 it was good as i actually had time to think about what i was doing like you said Zak, instead of zooming straight past tumble's bomber.

eek... landing...that'll be hard for me :( i can do it ok in big jets on games like MS Flight Simulator, but i cant do it at all on IL-2....

also! would you mind showing me how to shake a fighter off my tail next time around?

Practice. Come in flat...that means flat...not pulling up.....and about 250kph, with flaps down and with a little power on, and then let it touch down,and allow it to bounce a tad if it wants,....then cut the power and steer with the rudder tapping B for brake and once speed is down to about 100kph, pull back on the stick to hold it;s arse down and brake harder (more B)

Best planes to try in...IL-2 and Hurricane

By the way...Hurricanes, a potted history of models.

Hurricane Mk1, 8 machine guns (.303 inch) and they're not much good in this game. It's at the bottom of the plane list choice.

But...near the top of the list is Hurricane Mk2 B and Mk2 C and Field Mod.

Mk2 b has an EXTRA 4 machine guns, in the outer wings, 2 per side, giving you 12 machine guns. A quite amazing thing CLOSE UP..... but you gotta be close. And as you've seen, getting close involves dying when doing bombers. But on fighters, if you get close and stay close....rips them apary.

But... :) Mk2 C has just 4 canons. These are 20mm (bigger than .303 inch by a long way) and canon shells explode on impact. 1 will do the job on smallstuff.....4 in the same hit....kaboom

Field mob...bit like a Spit really, half machine guns for planes, half canon for big hits and ground attack.

Next planes to try....Lagg3 for pure balance and lovely easyness. Small guns though.
