Yeah it does sound really nice. APS-H sensor as well, so the crop is only 1.3x as opposed to 1.7 for APS-C. I wonder how this will effect EF-S lenses?

If i was to replace my 350D it would be with a 40D or perhaps even wait until the 50D

edit: ok, you areleady mensioned about the 1.3x crop. missed that at first...

FF is in August - this is the sports version, not many sports photogs work in wide angle, they prefer a little more reach

the D1s MkII is FF sensor 16.8mpx but only 4fps

the new D1s MkIII is rumoured to be 22mpx.. but we'll see

1 too many 9's there Hans

Yeah, I was looking forward to a 1D+1Ds merge in terms of full frame, but I guess it was asking a bit too much at this point in time.

Whilst I long for the superior focus system of a 1-series, I think I'll sit this one out, or wait for the stackload of s/h mkII's to hit the market and treat myself..

To be honest, I think Cannon are coasting. This is evolutionary rather than revolutionary.

That's nice. While we are vibrating the sensor to remove dust, why not vibrate it to do in-camera image stabilisation, so you get image stabalitation on all lenses rather than just Cannon's high priced telephoto ones.

Rather than offering WiFi as a high priced and bulky add-on, why not build it in as standard? The chipsets are cheap and fairly small. (You can get it in phones these days). On a camera that costs $4K $15 for a WiFi Chipset is peanuts.

Again you need an expensive external accessory to record onto an external drive. Why not include a USB port so that any USB storage device can be used? Users of medum format backs have been using iPods as portable USB storage devices, and saving their photos onto them for years. Why don't Cannon implement this obvious feature?

This sounds like a 'Low noise priority' exposure mode to complement aperture priority and shutter priority. If so then it is a good feature that is about 5 years late. Will there be a third dial to adjust the ISO on the fly in the same way as you can adjust aperture & shutter speed?

    Hmm, High priced accessories again?

Again this could be built in, or alternatively, build in Bluetooth, and use a commodity BT GPS receiver. (You can get combined WiFi & Bluetooth chipsets, that share most of the electronics and the antenna). If the camera had bluetooth you would also be able to send pictures via mobile phones, (Handy for news or war reporters), you could also use a BT headset as a wireless remote, or use it to add voice notes to pictures.
