    What Non-DSLR camera?

Ive decided its about time i joined teh 21st century and got rid of my APS cam in favour of a digital one, ive probably got somewhere in the region of £200 to spend, with the main criteria being:
    Portability
    Image Quality
Robustness (Im not generally rough on gear, but id rather not have something thats going to come into thousands of pieces if it does get dropped)
Ideally a viewfinder (how people get by without them i dont know.

I arent really bothered about Memory card format (Not even memory stick.)

Ive been looking at the Casio Exilim & Sony W80, but mainly because theyre black and shiny than any other reason

Ricoh R5? Can be had for about £170

Might not be the king on image quality, but does have a 7x optical zoom with image stabilisation. The R6 is out soon, but that should be up at about £250 on the high street and about £200 ish online.

It's at the top of my list purely as it is the smallest of the large zoom compacts.

That does seem like a good choice, even the new one would be in the price range as i already have an assortment of fast SD cards knocking around. Not too impressed with some of the reviews for the r5 though, so may have to wait to see what kind of reception the r6 gets (a good amount of use will be night/low light conditions)

Fair enough. I'm replacing a Sony DSC-P10, so any sort of low light perfomance will be a big difference. The P10 is rubbish at that. Also the longer optical and increased pocketability is good too
