Canon S3IS or Panansonic DMC-FZ50?

I've been on the lookout for a new camera and these two have caught my eye.

Do either of them have any advantages over the other? or is there better for the money?

Any other suggestions welcome.

S3 is 6MP and 12x optical zoom Canon lens, Panny is 10MP and a leica 12X optical lens.

Panasonic is available in silver, not just black.

Yes, sorry, I was reading about the extra pixels on the panasonic and a couple of reviews said that at higher megapixel settings, the panasonic had a lot of noise, but was great at up to 6MP.

So, would you say that they were equally as good?

I'm tempted to just hit buy on the panasonic and have done with it.

Gone for the canon in the end, seems to be slightly more well favoured overall from what I can gather, and it is slightly smaller as well

You cant go wrong with a Canon. One of my fav. brands by far
