Well with mine there was no flash, I was using centre-weighted metering and the background water was quite dark, then in when converting from RAW I slightly increased the blacks and the recovery to blacked the background and prevent the top of the swan's head being over-exposed too much, however the finished jpeg shown here is just about how it came out.
Using fill in flash is usually the best way to do it though, although using spot metering/centre-weighted metering can also produce these results

Yes we had our first rally last week but I missed it unfortunately. (working).
It's been ages since I've been on here, time for a post I think
Centralstation, Stockholm, Sweden
Beautiful images fellas.
@ Whiternoise - I like the first macro of the prickly things. Might be an idea to crop it so they run through the center, and are on a horizonal line with each other? I love the last one of the statue, the colours of the sunset are lovely, and I like the frozen water at the statues feet Would've been cool to get some more of the fountain in too.
@ Stoo - Gald you managed to, the first show is simply beautiful! Lovely colours, nice composition
@ CMC - Looks like a cool station, love how the arch has windows!
@ Kalniel - Wow! Is that from a P&S camera? It's gorgeous.
