kalniel really nice photo, did you find you had to ramp up to a small appature to get the dof, or did you crop down?

Neither (there's a small border crop for neatness, nothing major) - I only have a compact point and shoot so dof is provided by the small sensor (so yeah, it's a crop effectively, but not by me ). I can just about get narrow dof in a few controlled situations, but getting enough dof is rarely a problem.

To put it in perspective, that was f/4 which is around the sharpest point for the camera, focal length 5.8mm. I could have gone to f/2.8 for less dof but it's not as sharp there, stepping back and zooming in further would have been a better way of doing it, but it was only a quick shot and I know the rough flash compensation I need at that distance.

I like the second sunset - there's some nice textures in the sky. But the impact is slightly lessened by seeing the first one immediately before it - it's not different enough so it looks like a series.

Yeah - really this was taken a few years ago and I was just messing around with my camera settings. I have a few more from that sunset and I was just messing about to find out what worked well. I was quite happy with it though.

The last one there was taken in Barcelona underground somewhere IIRC.

did you get to see the flashing lights?
i didn't know about this in advance so: we were queuing for the lift to go down as the sun had just set.. when we got down coming out of the elevator; the lights started flashing.. so i casually walk to get a nice position to get a picture and then it stopped flashing! >:|

No at that point - it was just static. I did see them later that week but I was too sozzled to think to take any pictures. Didn't actually go up the tower either - maybe next time!

Not often I venture in here, but first time I do in months and I see a picture of one of the most lovely Cold-War jets in existence Bobster - you a very lucky man to be around that thing
