I've got one tonight, but i hate the venue. they have no stage lights, and the light that is there is red. I really need to invest in a remote flash*writes to santa*
can always shoot raw - then set your exposure off of the performers face, if its red, underexpose by 1/2 - 3/4 of a stop (check your histogram)

well it would seem that taking a picture of this guy and his band on Monday could well work to my advantage
it turns out that he helps run a venue that i've taken photos at before, and he wants to get me onboard as their photographer
